  • this dude is horrible

  • @CanadianImperialist It's a girl.

  • @notwithlamb like lady gaga?

  • You earned that buck like a motherfucker, keep that shit.

  • Bagakoos snoop is a woman, fool!

  • Snoop was the worst character everything he said was fuckin annoying and he sounds like a retarded child. this fool need to get got forreal

  • @BAGAKOOS snoop is a woman dummy

  • @BAGAKOOS Well, pretty obvious you didn't watch the show, then.

  • @AFallenLord oh i watched the show yo, but whatever snoop is, boy or girl, he or she definitely has a penis. thats all im sayin.

  • I could listen to her talk all day!

  • The best season of The Wire. The best season of any television show. Period.

  • @tjbayliss shes the same in real life. She fuckin killed somebody when she was 14 or something. Not only is she not annoying, she is one of the best female villains of all time.

  • What an incredibly terrifying character. Well done.

  • id fuck her

  • @JanicesSonHarpo get yourself a jail sentence

  • @JanicesSonHarpo siiiiiiiiiiiiick

  • The great thing is how the entire fourth season is encapsulated in this one scene. Everything that happens is all foreshadowed right here

  • FUCK THEM WEST COAST NIGGAS IN BMORE WE AIM TO HIT A NIGGA U HERD

  • man i love this damn show. She kept it real on the show and in her book

  • this is the best "in the hole" song.

  • @slimithy12 Season 1 - The Blind Boys of Alabama version is only about 195,000 times better.

But this version is probably the 2nd best easily.

  • Damn Snoop is a Gangsta ass Bitch...But the sayin is TRUE...Gangstas dont live that long.....One to the dome at the end..By a lil nigga she was bout to merk....

  • Am I the only one who thought Snoop was a boy until a few episodes in?

  • @MARKMCMARCUS Yeah until marlo called her "girl ' in season 3 I wasn't sure.

  • Love the look on the hardware store salesman's face when Snoop hands him the cash.

    "This is eight-hundred dollars"

"So what man you earned that bump like a mother fucker man keep that shit" - classic Snoop.

  • second favorite character, after omar

  • damn , uu can tell snoop frm baltimore ! that accent ; love tht shxt ! lol .

  • yeah we had about 5 jobs last month

  • This is without a doubt my favorite opening scene. It sums up the whole season in like 4 minutes: well-intentioned older people try to teach young tough kids, and then just end up stunned by the enormity of what they don't know.

  • Genius! The title song sounds better like this too

  • Love this scene... love this version of the song...

    best show EVER

  • I have seen all 5 seasons and I think season 4 was the worst of them all. First of all kids don't belong in an adult show and nobody realy cares about Marlo compared to Barksdale. But please tell what it is I have overlooked in season 4.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrJacobfromDenmark Don't know how much you know about the ghetto, the hood or whateva you want to call it, but there's a whole lot of kids growing up in a very adult world and I think that's really the point of this season, if you watch it and then you watch season 5, you are basically getting to see history repeat itself, why them corner boys end up on corners and junkies become junkies, every man is a boy first and once upon a time Bubs was Dukie and Omar was Michael and Kenard will be Marlo

  • @WeeBeyBay I totaly agree with you. But i think kenard will turn into bird more so than marlo. I mean bird cusses alot and hates omar.

  • this is 800 dollars! "so what man you earned that buck like a motha fucka"

  • Best season of any television series ever.

  • so what man you earnt that bump like a mufucka keep that shit

  • I HAVE TOSTOPWATCHING THAT VIDEO.

I START SPEAKING LIKE THAT MY SELF

    YOU FEELING ME DOO

  • I love the snares in this jam.

  • Season 4 had my favorite version of the theme song.

  • snoop was ma favorite character on season 4

  • I adore her. Thanks for uploading this!

  • Snoop in B&Q

  • Interesting, from 4:27 to 4:32, they show things spinning as a theme...didnt notice it before!

  • @Forristicat It's The Cycle. At the end of the show (spoilers if you haven't seen the whole thing yet) you see everything coming full circle, with Michael becoming the next Omar, Slim Charles becoming the next Avon, Dukie becoming the next Bubbles...the pattern of life is just a cycle according to the Wire (and nothing ever gets better - just stays the same). Hence all the wheels and circles.

  • now i have a question. i love the wire and i understand how each season opening is an allegory for the season main themes but honestly i dont see what it is here. can anyone help explain it?

  • i need this song

  • haha that white dude was scared ass hell

  • I love this show, I just never understood why the theme song was so terribly uninspiring and the opening intro was always shot kinda amateurish. But season 4 was amazing.

  • @KingBatProductions It's like life: amateurish and uninspiring haha. I will always like season 1 opening song version the most.

  • Every seasons version of the theme song just gets shittier and shittier. The only good one was the original by Tom Waits, i dont see why they would change somethin that was already great.

  • @Gradey3 Tom Waits did Season 2, not the original one. I didn't like the season 3 one much, the first one was decent though. Haven't got to Season 5 yet so don't know about that one!

  • MY JOINT

  • Snoop looks just like Lil Romeo

  • brilliant writing. best thing on tv since tv was invented

  • Fucking Raw.

  • @tjbayliss Initially I found her character to be incredulous too, but if you've ever watched one of her interviews you'll realise she's exactly the same in real life. So there probably wasn't a less forced, rehearsed, scripted or fake character on the show!

  • I know it's real, I saw an interview, and I hear she actually did have a life similar to this, and was all messed up in gang stuff.

    But my point still stands

Her voice sounds so fake, even if it is how she actually speaks

It sounds like a girl trying to sound like a boy

It sounds forced, and not natural

Whether she really is like this irl or not, her voice doesn't sound natural

Personally, I think she's trying to sound more gangsta than she really is.

  • ...or it could be just that's how her voice is?

    Mind-boggling, isn't it?

  • @tjbayliss she was in jail for killing someone. she doesnt need to pretend to be gangster

  • @tjbayliss you are contradicting yourself and your point is really just that you don't like her voice. Just say that.

  • @Primordeum The voice just sounds wrong.. She doesn't sound exactly like that in real life..

In the interviews she sounds much more normal.

In the show, it just sounds forced, like she's trying to sound gangsta

I know she IS/WAS a real gangsta/hoodlum but then just speak normally, she doesn't have to force out the accent that clearly isn't her own and natural.

  • @tjbayl but why would she try to sound like this in a interview i know a great college basketball player who plays right know sound like he is the nicest person in the world in a interview but anytime i was around him he was a asshole but this is her actuall accent, alot of Baltimore people have like this slur at the end of they voice when they talk im from Columbus so when i visted my cousin in bmore i heard people sound just like she do and she was in the system so i think this the real her

  • @Primordeum And she's a Butch.

  • @tjbayliss

Some of the girls end up in Secure Units would surprise the living shit out of yo; in terms of pride, nihilsm, or just straight up messin-with-you-all, your patronsing ain't but bullshit.

  • @tjbayliss I BET U WONT SAY IT 2 HER FACE SHE WOULD SHOOT UR ASS AND WONT BLINK TWICE!

  • @tjbayliss She's actually from the streets of Baltimore dumbass... she's the most real person on the show.

  • @whiteganser I know that.

Still doesn't change the fact that her voice just sounds plain fake.

It sounds like a regular girl, trying to sound like a gangster.

It does not work, and will always sound wrong.

That's the only flaw The Wire has. How fake Snoop's voice sounds.

  • @tjbayliss your a fuckin idiot take a step outside your predominantly white suburb and take a look around honestly

  • @jumba202 Wow, what an intelligent response, filled with subject matter.

Maybe my original post was too harsh. But Snoop's voice is annoying, and always will be.

Maybe that's how she really sounds - but that still doesn't change the fact that it just sounsd wrong.

It sounds forced, as if she's trying desperately to sound gangsta. And maybe she is.

But a female voice box trying to sound gangsta just does not work in this instance.

  • @tjbayliss what you expected a 2 line comment to be filled with subject matter? or is that just your standard response cuz you get hate mail a lot? i definitely don't hear anything forced by the way she talks and neither does anyone else it looks like. its just your stupid ass trying to be a critic when you aint one.

  • @jumba202 It may be her natural voice, but it sounds forced.

The way she talks sounds as if she's trying to sound more gangsta than she does.

Maybe it's just because it's a female voice trying to sound super-black.

Either way, it does sound forced, and isn't natural.

She may be gangsta, but that is not her natural voice.

  • @tjbayliss She literally just was sent to jail in real life for killing someone... please look that up and tell me she isn't a gangster. She could kick the shit out of you. I'm also pretty sure you're the only person who's ever claimed to not loving snoop, she was one of the scariest yet best characters on the show.

  • @whiteganser She was arrested during a drug raid back in March, and then released.

She has probably killed people in the past, but hasn't recently.

And most certainly has not been sent to jail for murder.

    Check your sources.

  • @tjbayliss Snoop has to be one of my favourite characters on the show. I don't see how you can say that her voice is forced, knowing full well that this is how she speaks in real life! It's not your typical female voice, but it's her voice, it's just different. I agree with jumba202, step outside your comfort zone (even though I don't know if it's a white suburb), things that are/look/sound unusual to you are not necessarily "wrong"; they're just different.

  • @tjbayliss lol wow what a sheltered life you must live... Snoops a typical stud(lesbian that dresses like a man but doesn't want surgery or hormone treatments)... Even more realistic shes a real criminal... Pretty much nothing about the way she dresses or acts is fake...

  • @tjbayliss Dude you have no idea how black butch lesbian murdering black girls behave, ok? Granted I have not met anyone who actually committed a homicide. But yeah this is actually a very good representation of how working class butch lesbian black girls behave especially when they don't get to go to school. And by the way, I'll take David Simon's opinion of how butch criminal women behave because Simon covered crime in Baltimore for two decades. All u know is just some chicks in malls.

  • @Jimpich well she actually murdered someone aged 14, she's the real deal

  • @tjbayliss - Gotta disagree with you there. Snoop was one of the realest characters on the show.

  • @tjbayliss that bitch was crazy

  • @tjbayliss lol you have to see her in real life. she's the EXACT SAME. No force at all

  • Was watching this and some other episodes at thewireseason[dot]com. Straight classic

  • Best cold opening ever. The fourth season is without a shadow of a doubt the finest 13 hours television has ever produced.

  • @jpom29 couldnt have said it better, and the wire is the greatest series ever made, way better than the sopranos

  • completely agree jpom

season 4 is the most perfect television you could ever see ahhh. I watched it too recently to re-watch it for a 3rd time, but i might start watching it again. Fuck it its worth watching again

  • classic scene, Snoop was perfect "so what man you earnt that bump like a motherfucka man keep that shit"

  • @Sameolg100

Its not bump, its a buck, like a buck of money.

This i gotta say this scene is epic. My favorite scene!

  • It is ''bump'' i got family from BMORE thats the slang down there.

  • oh, my bad. I saw it from the subtitles when I watched the show on DVD a while a go, and there it stood "buck".

But since ur all B-More and shit I guess ur right

  • @ma2183 It's bump like bump from $600 to $800, like if you earn a salary bump, a raise. Not complicated.

  • oh that starting scene is a CLASSIC

  • Way Down In The Hole

    By Domaje

  • what is the song?

  • you earned that bump like a motherfucker man keep that shit

  • David Simon is far too cool to whore is creation out to Hollywood but I would love to see a feature length follow on to season 5

  • i still have homicide A year on the killing streets, but never get a chance to read it on a regular basis. maybe when i finish Silence Of The Lambs.

a Homicide unit in Baltimore in 1988. THat should be an intriguing read.

  • It's like reading 'The Wire'.

  • i actually thought snoop was a boy until episode 9 or something

  • omg same lol

  • wasn't just you. I only found out after seeing an interview with the actress

  • If you have HBO on demand, check dat.

  • i so loved snoop's character on this show

  • "we had about five jobs last month" She says with a smile... pretty sick when you think about it. Snoop was cold blooded.

  • aint no hard ware barn in baltimore

  • yeuh mayn

  • BEST.SHOW.EVER.

  • @widowwarmer

I second that! And I love Snoop like a muthahfuckah!

I'm just a white guy and she would tear my ass up, but I still love her!

  • She is motherfucking chilling.

    A stone cold killer.

  • i don't understand a word she says :S

  • You earned that like a muh'fucker.

Damn I love and hate Snoop, she scares the shit outta me

  • "man f*ck a charge, this here's a gun powder activated 27 caliber full auto no kickback nail throwin' mayhem." lmao

  • "he meant Lexus but he ain't know it" lol.

  • I guess subtlety and discretion isn't in Snoop's vocabulary, lol

  • Snoop looks so tomboyish in this scene

  • who sings the Tom Waits tune here?

  • A group of Baltimore teenagers called DoMaJe

  • lol snoop price matching and shit
