  • I am white dude around 50 years old now. LOVED R & B/Soul especially 1965-1985. While I like a lot of different kinds of music, R & B/Souls has really stuck with me thru the years. I don't know how I missed Curtis Mayfield all these years. He was never on my radar. Mainstream kept playing Superfly. While watching "Get on the Bus" I heard his music and have been hooked ever since, What a genius I missed. His music is simply PURE HEAVEN and saddened he is gone. RIP and THANKS!

  • My pleasure soulmate, long live the genius of Curtis.

  • Simply fantastic !

  • Many thanks for the comment, 8.58 of pure heaven.

    Pure funk

  • I just had to post again to tell you how great this is. I've been listening to it on a loop for over an hour now!

  • Brilliant - thanks for posting this, never heard an extended version of the song.

  • beauty

  • just great!

  • Have to agree with you, if there is one piece of music I would choose to remember Curtis with, this is it, having said that Curtis could never do any wrong in my book anyway. Many thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

  • This 1970 R&B track is arguably one of the best tracks of the 70's, and of alltime from a masterful musician and composer, bow down to Mr. Mayfield, bow down.

  • genius.

  • Genius is a word overused for many artists, for Curtis it`s the only word to describe his talent. Many thanks for the comment.

  • Many thanks. I know others have uploaded Move On Up, but I have been listening to this track since it was released in the UK in 1971. If there was one track to introduce people to Curtis, this is it., or maybe People Get Ready, or maybe ........ impossible to pick one from the genius of Curtis Mayfield. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

  • You need a comment in here just giving you props for one of the most awesome grooves ever laid down. Nice!!
