I served two tours as a DI. Cussing went on. It doesn't make or break the training I had DIs that never cursed, not because of it was in the SOP but because they simply didn't curse. They still could stress recruits out also. I NEVER saw a DI get NJP for cursing. At the most they'd be taken aside and talked to, and that was only if they were stupid enough to do it in front of everybody, especially civilians on the base. my favorite saying was profanity is a crutch for an ignorant motherfucker.

Who didn't get cussed at in boot camp. When i was at PI my DIs cussed so much it was just funny. They said fuck so much, you had to bite your cheeks to keep from laughing. I guess they werent supposed to, but it still happened. I mean, theyre not supposed to IT for more than like 7 minutes, but some recruits would spend an hour on the quarterdeck. RCTs now will probably spend more time up there because supposedly they got rid of scuz brush games. I fuckin hated those things.
When I was in boot camp in Ft. Knox with the Army I never got cussed at, and I never got hit either, and they issued us Playstations and puppies to play with, and we had bon fires and free beer every friday night. I loved boot camp and I wish I could go back.....

I got a few shots here and there but when I was in boot camp I watched DI's get in trouble for screaming at recruits on the rifle range and stuff. In 3rd Battalion it's still pretty tough.

Who didn't get cussed at in boot camp. When i was at PI my DIs cussed so much it was just funny. They said fuck so much, you had to bite your cheeks to keep from laughing. I guess they werent supposed to, but it still happened. I mean, theyre not supposed to IT for more than like 7 minutes, but some recruits would spend an hour on the quarterdeck. RCTs now will probably spend more time up there because supposedly they got rid of scuz brush games. I fuckin hated those things.

When I was in boot camp in Ft. Knox with the Army I never got cussed at, and I never got hit either, and they issued us Playstations and puppies to play with, and we had bon fires and free beer every friday night. I loved boot camp and I wish I could go back.....

The Playstations we were issued were PS2's, not the awesome PS3's, the free beer we were given was Miller Light - yuck. I think people think soldiers should be perfect so they can adjust to customers, PEOPLE its a ARMY BOOT CAMP they don't care if you don't like them cussing or not they have to get in a mind set so they can fight and live and if they have to bag your food while fighting in a war and treat the customer all nice in the middle of the battle field whats going to happen is the PERFECT ARMY gets killed and they come over to our country and start killing us because you hate the word FUCK ...

I got a few shots here and there but when I was in boot camp I watched DI's get in trouble for screaming at recruits on the rifle range and stuff. In 3rd Battalion it's still pretty tough.

I completely agree with this guy. I'm a female Marine and when I was in bootcamp, my DI's cursed at us all the time! I'm one of 3 females in my shop, (I'm in aviation) and even there, the males don't give a fuck. A Marine's a Marine and that's the end of the story.

I never saw one Drill Sergeant ease up one time on any of us in basic including me. I made the mistake of smiling in formation once and I was put in the front lean and rest for a solid 45 minutes in front of my plattoon. Hurt like fuck but I didn't have a stress card to throw and I wouldn't have even if i had 1

I'm a Poolee in the DEP right now and EVERY recruiter and CO on base cusses at us at EVERY meeting. You have to be an adult to join the military. An adult should be able to handle hearing "shit", "fuck", "damn", ect. without crying. That's just life.
