@qwertyb18 Sazh's Blitz is more powerful and more useful at close-range. Point-blank range against a large enemy like this, it can deal nearly ten times the damage of a single strike.

can you save and reload the game if youre not worried about CP? does it drop the same stuff if you do that?

@faiye1 Not sure what you mean? It can drop Platinum Ignot (5% x amount of stars) or trapezohedron (1% x amount of stars. So a 5 star battle will give a 25 % chance of an Ignot and a 5% chance of a trapezohedron. So you can save, defeat him, see if you get anything, and then restart if you didn't get anything to try again. Is this what you wanted to know?

@uaechibi too true - when I read what the percentages were for the rare and common drops I was extremely pissed. Even with the catalogs farming is still stressful. Its very unlucky that you didnt get any traps considering you have a higher chance of getting them from long guis than adamantoise/adamatortoise. Rather annoying that you start getting what you previously needed when you have no use for it anymore....

@uaechibi of course! in the order of strength from weakest to strongest it goes adamantortoise with hp in the 3 millions, adamantoise with over 5mil and the long gui with hp in the 16 millions. Yeah final fantasy 13 isnt the best final fantasy but I cant say its one of the worst either. the only thing that pissed me off about the game is that you don't earn money from battles. I spent 95% of the game broke and that treasure hunter trophy/achievement is bullshit.

@scribble71891 I know right. Been farming these guys for about 5 days now. Got 31 platinum Ignots, 12 Trapezohedrons and 2 moogle puppets (from using the chocobo to travel between the adamantoises) and it's still not enough I think. I stop farming at 99 Ignots I guess.

After I got 6 of everyone's weapons and all of lightning's weapons (tier 2 and I tier 3) and 90% of the accessories I started selling them to get the money to pay for what I needed. It was much faster but I recommend you save before doing doing this. This really is the only way to make things a little easier/faster cause the prices in this game is bs.

@scribble71891 yeah prices are a bitch. only 10k gil for a trap when they're sold for 2milion each. theyve could have made them sellable for at least 500k gil no? As for the speed thing, I like to take my time for it. just did 3 trips and I'm on 36 ingots plus an extra moogle doll and a plush chocobo.

@uaechibi long gui is much stronger that adamantoise.. there is also adarmantortoise (its a little stronger than adamantoise)

I beat Adamantoise one time without Death as well, how ever..I got extremely lucky, and used quite a bit of elixers. Just had people with physical resistance and decent hp with a medic and sentinel. Summon, then when the tortoise goes down and the team comes back triple rav until stagger and triple Com when its staggered. When it gets back up, Summon again unless I don't have the tp then I use elixer. Like I said before, I was lucky to live all the hits and took awhile. Didn't get trap tho =(

@Crazyness1994 Loug gui and sholoung gui are more grey its a very subtle but once you unlock the long gui it replaces all but the adam in the edan area.

I just use Fang, Hope, and lightning and I can kill this thing in half the time. So that would not make this the best though. But i do like someone who can actually use Sazh appropriately.

@TLsean once you ahve beaten the game it will unloack the last level and you can get to Lv5. However be warned everyhting on this last level costs 30000 or 60000 CP a pop meaning you will only be able to afford 3 upper advances by beting this thing twice.

This is the best way to kill this guy earlier.Actually Sazh can be at 800+ strength,but seriously the stagger point will be ALMOST gone after you killed it(if you do everything right in timing).

I see you're using the Polaris Specials, which I guess would be good for getting the stagger up with their MAG.

However, my friend has told me that it's more effective on the COM side if you use Hyades Magnums, which would be true since they have 1040 STR, but no MAG.

Do you think this strategy that you're using would work just as well with said magnums, since the COM side of it would be quicker, but with no MAG, would the stagger still go up as quickly even with bad damage?

@jbrist no i believe that the polaris specials are better because to boost the stagger chain up, Sazh uses more magic than attack and with a lower magic the damage dealt to the toise might be too low to kill it. Also, it is more balanced.

The ultimate version of the Rigels>Polaris Specials have 1000+attack and 1000+magic.

@RKLshinobiBackup Hmm, I'm in Chapter 11 at the moment (Well, just killed the last boss, but haven't progressed yet), and upgraded Sazh's weapons to the Hyades Magnums, but only at level 40 (They give around 700 STR), as well as given him 3x Warriors Wristbands with 180 STR each. He now has 20XX (Forgot the exact number) STR, but only 4.7k HP due to the Silk Tiger effect. And with a tactic I've tried myself, I can kill them in just over a minute, so I guess MAG isn't needed too much, lol. =]

@jbrist ahh i see. you can also use that also but i get lazy and don't like to switch back and forth between 2 weapons, also i've completely messed up my game by making too many cost worsening choices. I prefer a more balanced version but when i get the money i will try the magnums =D. My sazh has Polaris Specials and i forgot what accessories but has a balanced 1700 attack and magic.
