@Antifaith29 - Rebadged? Or restyled noticably? I am willing to believe the floorpan and suspension are Opel, but I haven't seen too many Asconas with taillights like the Torana.
@Antifaith29 The Ascona was only a starting point. Inside and out, suspensions, engines, transmissions were all changed, until the only things they have in common are a few rudimentary physical similarities
The LX and handling - that was partly due to German Peter Hanenberger arriving at Holden to be a part of the engineering department... He would then do similar things with the HZ models...
Marvellous to see Peter Perfect again, at such a young age. He really had the goods (for the marketers) with his presentation, expression and delivery.
holden should leave the name to rest unless they are going to build a decent car apart from the commodore these days. no car they build these days will ever live up to the torana name
They didn't all have legend written all over them initially - the 1969 "Torana Brabham" was not renowned for its performance level, a reviewer of the time was outrun in one by an Austin 1800 - also less said about the Starfire 4-cylinder models the better...

@tobagotb10 Thats because it is the Opel, rebadged with a few minor tweeks for aussie conditions.

Holden LX Torana doesn't look as good as LCs or LJ's. I would rather have a HB

They should start making these exact cars again just to annoy our new prime-minister.
