lol,the people cursing wmg make me laugh,it says it's a SILENT movie, obviously the owner of the fim has used a music track over the top and THAT has been taken down, not the sound of these bikes!
My dad has the gloves that Mike won the 1978 TT on the Ducati after that remarcable race with Reed, he wished he had the talent as he had in one finger! especially in the isle of man..God bless Mike!!!
me too, seems like a lifetime ago, stayed in Douglas at the Imperial Hotel. I can still remember the smell of oil in the pits. Thanx for posting this!!
I was there too, but thought it was 78 that Mike did the comeback. I still have a 30 year old Rickman topbox with all of the 1978/79/80 MCN/MC Weekly 'Tank Pumped Out' stickers on it! I witnessed an all time racing legend happening and have never forgotten it. Saddest thing ever that Mike got killed not long after, driving to his local fish and chip shop to get some supper for his kids by some twat driving a lorry. Thanks for posting this up, absolutely brilliant!!
78 he rode 900 Ducati and Martini Yamahas, they were piss poor. Thats why he came back in 79, with Suzuki RG 500 and Ducati 900 again.Did his fastest ever lap on Suzuki 114mph. That was the first time I ever went to IOM and it will live with me forever.
That's 1979 - hard to tell from what you can see but looks like his Senior 500 win in his last racing year. He did come back in 1980 for one parade lap, but this looks like the year before.
Its silent. It says so in the description quote 'Silent cine film of Mike Hailwood...'
