  • I wish i could meet bach his invention of ``la fugue´´ and ``La clavier bien tempré´´ shall go on with us forever

  • dit is het stuk waar ik met mn viool mee bezig ben

  • "Alice": You are fantastic! You're aesthetic awareness and capacity to express it, joyfully astounds me. I listened to Bell mature across the years, and look forward to hearing you live also (fifteenth row, center, if I can). Thank you. Like Bach, you are a blessing to this world.

  • That conductor means business.

  • I wish I knew enough about music to be such an enormous douche like certain commenters. I just hear the beautiful music; you must know enough to appreciate the complexity, the hidden beauty, the gentle interweaving of themes and repeated strains. And still you can be a pretentious douche. Outstanding.

  • I can play the first five measures perfectly... After that it's a fail downhill.

  • because this is music

  • I play this song on my violin and I just want to say that it's beautiful and fantastic and I love it !!!!

  • @andronikisa I am so jealous of you!! I play piano, and it's a great instrument, but there is something about the way those two violins sing to each other that is so unique and irreplaceable :)

  • Que hermosa, que sublime... me encanta...

  • A beautiful piece that is all I can say at this time

  • you critics don't be such snobs !! play the piece and show me !!

  • They're both great players, but there is WAY too much emphasis on first solo for second violin where there are eighth notes to be played.

  • i heard that about 3 minutes in. someone dropped their thingy while playing their violin. otherwise gorgeous piece.

  • This double concerto is amazing, fabulous. I love it.

  • lol one 2nd violin played louder than the whole 2nd violin section lol

  • I love this piece

  • Hey! i thought this was for two violins :O

  • That's my favourite classic composition

  • This is the last violin piece I ever played before I went insane

  • That was lovely!

  • Esta hermosa melodia me encanta!!!! es maravillosa!!! admiro a Bach es uno de mis musicos favorios de musica clásica y este genero tambien me gusta mucho!!

  • youtube com/watch?v=UMFEp5LCM1Y

Check out this Violin Concerto in C minor.

  • After the first 6 minutes it was putting me to sleep... gotta listen to something else while i study @_@.

  • Why must a conductor have a feminine 'bun' on the back of his head. Bring me SIr Thomas Beecham anyday !

  • is it lame that this made me tear up a bit? absolute beauty.

  • A piece of music of sublime beauty that only a first-rank genius such as J. S. Bach could have created.

  • Oh my gosh I wish I can hear Bach's Violin Concerto in D minor in live. ;_;

I'd be happy even if it were only the first movement. This is my absolute favorite Bach piece.

  • @RooDooDoll : This composition is so attractive is it not ?

  • @MusicPredominates Attractive and moving, yes. I just love it! It's probably my favorite out of everything.

  • minunat

  • I like how the comments for this video are generally alot less dumber than other videos that are on this youtube intertnet site

  • ahhh!!! why is there no vids of d minor harmonic!!

  • as seen on crossfit??? why would a violin video be on a fitness site :S

  • wuauuuuuuuuuuuuu simplemente magnifico !!!

  • I love this duet so much, i remember playing it a while back :)

  • fucking awesome!

  • Q ERMOSA ES LA MISIK CLASIK, LO MJOR Q A DADO LA MUSIK

  • Beautiful.

  • Excelente!!!

    Desde: Colombia.

  • i feel like im in the 1700's

  • holy trinity church on rittenhouse square?

  • Fabulous!

  • <3

  • simplemente magnifico

  • cellos don't sound fitting to the music

  • @dongwgo Cellos don't fit? Bach is string, string is cello. There is a reason why those who can, play the cello to Bach. But, your opinion is still yours. Rostropovich cello. enough said. listen and enjoy

  • @madtownstu bach is string but string isn't cello, its is the combination of violin, viola, cello and double bass. and especially on this piece which is written for violins, the cello sounds too loud for the violins. I meant that the cello part was quite too loud compared to the violins in this piece which is written for two violins

  • @asp1124 Reading your comment made my day. We need more of this sort of humour today. Keep it up

  • I Love This!!

  • Why is that guy standing there waving a stick around?

  • the female violinist is Hilary Hahn? because she sounds like her, and looks like her to.

  • Thank you Bach for giving me the ability to stay up for three hours to complete my essay so that i can stay in school...

  • @ShadarKai1

Hah, seems like you haven't heard of Modafinil yet.

  • @ShadarKai1 so true : p

  • BRAVO!

  • Bravoooo, thanks...

  • to 83EFRANCO...

brother, your mum IS listening to this concert

  • Bach wrote a whole lot of music in D minor.

  • Me and my friend are playing this for our orchestra project mainly for the teachers to hear and i am sooooooo nervous.

  • THIS CONCERT REMINDS ME MY MOTHER WHO PASSED AWAY 24 DAYS AGO, I WANTED HER TO LISTEN THIS BEFORE SHE DIED, BUT SHE WASN'T ABLE TO DO IT.

  • @83EFRANCO I'm truly sorry about your mum... pity she couldn't listen to Bach before her passing.

  • @83EFRANCO

    brother

your mum IS listerning to this concert

  • O segundo movimento quase me deixa em transe. Não posso colocar no carro pra escutar. Tenho medo de sair de mim e bater.

  • oh myyy...!! muero muerooo!!! I adooooreee this themeee!!!!!!! long time no listen to it

  • after watching 1 hour of jake an amir clips, this is the only thing that can get to me study again.

thank you bach on behalf of lazy college procrastinating college students

  • @notSoFormal

oh and aderall, you deserve just as much credit

  • @notSoFormal this distracts me from doing my homework, its too good haha

  • @notSoFormal Don't presume to speak for all of us. Bach is like procrastination crack for me.

  • @notSoFormal Thank you Bach on behalf of procrastinating lawyers everywhere trying to get caught up on work.

  • @notSoFormal i'm watching this because of procrastination

  • Comment removed

  • @notSoFormal This comment explains exactly what i just did

  • Bach provoca sempre alegria entre as pessoas, não consigo perceber porque foi esta música ser tocada num funeral...

Enfim, Bach consegue sempre chegar a pessoas pouco «clássicas».

    Bach sempre muito «flexível».

  • I never listen to classical music

But I can't deny the sheer epicness of this piece :)

  • there are three songs right? what's the name of the third one! its really intense when they play it.. it shivers down into my spine ^_^"

  • @zhinthemist its not songs but movements. the name is simply the title of the main piece, which in this case is the double violin concerto in d minor, plus the movement number, which is 3. so the title would be double violin concerto in d minor 3rd movement.

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... so sorry ^_^" i don't know about these movements ^^

  • 3rd movement's my favorite

  • i remember watching this video when it only had a couple hundred views, however the number of views it has now is more fitting for such a nice piece.

  • By the way this performance was great, very well done. It was very enjoying to listen to. I am just getting into classical music as I'm a guitar player looking to broaden my musical pallate and would like some suggestions of artists such as these to check out because I do not know much of anything about this music yet. IC.

  • I would say im a decent lead guitarist and im thinking of taking up classical violin classes this June.. will it make learning the violin any easier? i love this instrument! :P

  • @dwayne515 I went from being a decent guitarist to playing cello in a string class for music teachers as a college student. I think knowing guitar will give you some sense of two-handed independence. There are some things you will no doubt have to unlearn or adjust quite a bit, but in general I found playing one string instrument before did make learning a second one less of a rock-bottom beginning.

  • @manthasagittarius thank you!:)

  • @manthasagittarius I would like to play the cello myself. I am a very acomplished guitar player, seemed the violin came reall easy to me and I was able within a couple hours to make some very convincing sounds and songs. The Cello I tried once in a music shop and wow yeah that was a whole different animal at least to me. I agree with the 2 hand independance thing and having the coordination already, but alot of major adjustments for cello, just action and string size alone. Cheers, IC.

  • Describe this video in one word? "Amazing"

  • This sucks, the first ten seconds of the piece is the only part I like!

  • @mgagliano3 you get no likes here sir, you are scrub.

  • @mgagliano3 you are a fucking idiot that does not belong here. go back to your cave

  • bachs the shittest

justin beiper is so much better

  • @MRSQU1D yet you spelled his name wrong lol

  • @MRSQU1D You mean the fixed voice and the artificial sounds are better than great ability to play a REAL instrument as this performance... maybe in an parallel universe.

  • @MRSQU1D you sir have impeccable taste in music, I understand that bach is fairly complicated and that listening to a man with a girl voice sing "baby baby Ooooh" over and over again is easy for you... but don't diss bach, there's a reason we still listen to him.

  • @MRSQU1D

are you Mr. Squid or Mrs. Quid? Just wondering if you're a male cephalopod or a wealthy female Brit. I'm guessing the former, since the latter would certainly have better taste.

  • @asp1124 I think that was the greatest, most sophisticated smack down in the history of youtube. I for one, gave it a thumbs up.

  • @asp1124 LOL that was hilarious, well done. lol

  • @MRSQU1D Shame on you and your existance... Your musical taste is disgraceful.

  • @xidreamtofyoux ??????????

Is this concert (classic Pieces) Not ur taste? Then fck of :(

  • what BWV it's this Masterpiece?

  • @durazzzz bwv 1043

  • please, write in search: orifieltrony(dot)wordpress(dot)com/2011/02/10/

  • Is not a song it don't have any voice

  • @MrRiR1 are you serious? *smh*

    (-____-)

  • @oceanbluexx Actually, he's absolutely correct. This is not a song, it's a piece. An absolutely amazing piece at that.

  • As much as I like Mozart,I have to admit that Bach's music reaches the inner depths of the human soul, in ways that other composers, dead or alive, will never do

  • 18 minutes yes.. but it seems split in three parts, or songs even.

  • @natruto These are not called songs, they are symphonies.

  • @xidreamtofyoux

I know were all listening to bach here and everything, but there is no need to be pretentious.

  • @xidreamtofyoux

J.S. Bach never wrote a symphony in his life. Don't try to be pretentious when you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @maskonto77 Hahaha wow you surely are an idiot. He did actually wrote symphonies. So, before you start insulting people, just try to get yourself a little bit of more information, okay? Have a marvelous day.

  • @xidreamtofyoux

Actually, Bach never wrote any symphony. He wrote Sinfonias, which mean something else.

In the Baroque that word had a different meaning, but the thing which is called symphony nowdays started only in the Classical Period, so I doubt Bach wrote any.

  • Has it been 18mins already?

  • i think its funny how this video got 1.2 million views. the sound quality from the recording sucks. still, i find myself coming back to this video over and over again.

  • @magimum the sound quality is rather high compared to most uploads

  • @magimum yea what are you talking about it sounds great!

  • I want to know that female violinist is who

  • ah bach wonderful bach was born in the same year as handel and scarletti (composers) 1685 he was orphaned 10 years later when both parents died he was just 10 years of age but he went on to compose some excellent works and he married twice producing an unbelievable 20 children some whom themselves became composers anyway good post

  • To say 'bach rules' is an understatement of his work. If he truly was an innovator within the classical genre, which I strongly believe he was, he would not have cared whether or not his music would eventually influence music for centuries to come. He would have simply continued to do what he did.

  • @vrok137

I'm sorry that my words made you feel that way. But in my very heart, I never meant to understate his significance at all. I truly love all his works esp. violin concertos and the organ compositions.

  • A masterpiece indeed.

I wonder how a human being could write these things so beautifully. Bach rules!

  • troppo lentaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • Pretty bad that cough at 03:30, but excellent performance.

  • Truly one of the great heirlooms of mankind

  • Are very talented. ;D

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I have a violin myself, and it's frusterating trying to play it fast, and make it song good. So those people raw

  • i love hanamoon

  • is the conductor using a hat?

  • Great perfomance

  • For some reason, Bach always makes me think of Autumn. Somber, but strangely sweet at the same time.

  • Nice upload

  • Great playing!

  • I recently just started to really get into Classical music and i must say this one is one of my favorite... and it put my baby right to sleep:)

  • I am a violinist, and I recently played in a trio with another violinist and a cellist. The other violin wants to do this with me as a duet. I must say, he has a LOT more confidence in me than I do. I don't honestly think I could pull off such a wonderful piece like this. I'd probably kill it.

I just love listening to this though. It makes me happy. :)

  • @Kashelle357 I say go for it. No harm in trying, and I'm sure if you work at it long enough you could pull it off.

  • @JacobH021 Aww... thank you! :-)

  • Hey everyone. Please listen to my Improvisational take on the piece Fur Elise. It is called Fur Elisha. I assure with that you will just be mesmerized by the sound that enters your ears.. with love.. Tyler James Portnoy. ~ thank you. .~( you should join my channel, be friends.)

  • Gelukkig hebben we Bach, dat kunnen de woestijnbarbaren ons niet afnemen !

  • My sister and I played this for a recital when I was 13! Absolutely astonishing piece of music.

  • This song was played at my Grandma's funeral today, such a lovely piece of music

  • @SaintBlade, I am truly sorry about your grandmother's passing. I'm glad that Bach's music was able to offer you some comfort.

  • @SaintBlade

    Peace for u

  • @SaintBlade im sorry about your grandma

i guess nice music was played for a nice person

  • y is one of the soloists sitting and the other standing??

  • 83 people have no taste...I'm a rock 'n' roller, and I still love Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Bach...

  • @DwayneRydell That's true - well, personally, I am against dividing music into genres. You can still love a bunch of different "genres" but some people just rely on it too much. As for me it is a similar case as yours, maybe even more extreme. I actually listen to Death Metal mostly however I do LOVE classical pieces especially those of Bach. Some people just built some huge walls between all of today's genres. In the end, everything is just art, creativity. Like something or do not, that's it.

  • bach, mozart, & chopin are my favorites

  • This is a great contribution to the world who love classical music. Your great keep on going in your good works.

  • @raymondutanes

It's a great contribution to the world in general.

  • can the solo's quater notes be played legato instead of stacatto?

  • Pure beauty......

  • jeez, these guys play for a long time XD

  • I love the metal but the classical music.....paganinni and bach are just the best users of the gift of the musical interpretation and let´s say It once and for all. they are the best musicians that ever gona walk over the earth.

    Amen

  • @XJedan

I personally think that those musicians were on a whole different level than musicians of today.

  • @fatkidsgettinghurt yes!! indeed I think that it is due to the grat amount of free time that those musicians haved, and because they lived for the music, but the musicians of today.... they just want to be famous, get drunked many times and fuck as many fans as they can, the best music is passion, some classical musicians haved these defects in a minor scale but today the true love for the music have almost vanished.

  • Beautiful melody, hey you fucking idiot, repeat after me : the sun is not the center of the universe jajajaja I really enjoy this. I can keep doing this all day.

  • conductor.....sick?

  • @tanitity

    Love his hair style

  • the second moviment is.......No words!!!!
