My dog just got home from surgery and she's a naturally hyper dog and she can't keep still, and her mum...our other dog is trying to attack her because she had to sleep over at the hospital and yeh my dog keeps trying to wipe and scratch her eye, the vet didn't give her a collar, any tips of how i can care for her?
how does one calculate the IOL power to be implanted. what was the size of the optic and haptic of the IOL implanted. Any special co. manufacturing the IOLs or are they the same that are implanted in humans. Nice surgery.
This is amazing. That must take a very steady hand. It looks like a very difficult and precise surgery. Amazing it can let the dog see again though. What kind of dog was it and how old was it?
Nice to see that Vision Blue is also used in canine phaco/IOL surgery. Just wondering if you also do hydrodissection and/or hydro-delineation of the lens nucleus prior to phaco and if you use an OVD before implanting the IOL. Not apparent in this video, but these steps might have been edited out. Are you making a self-sealing incision or do you suture? Do you inject BSS into the corneal stroma at the end to help make the incision tight? Are topical NSAIDs being used before/after surgery?
always use Vision Blue, I hydrodissect non diabetics ( had a bad experience in a diabetic with an extremely intumescent lens), that being said I do hydrodissect some diabetics. I am not sure hydro-delineation is works in the canine lens.
I leave the second stab wound "open" and it is seals nicely but I do like the idea of an injection seal. the primary would is sutured. And yes I do use an OVD to reform the bag before IOL implant.
after highschool you 2 to 4 years of regular college with an emphasis on science and math. then veterinary college for 4 years, then an internship for one year and then residency training for three years I know it seems like a lot but its all fun and worth it study hard

The music is really irritating and completely unnecessary. The video, however, is amazing.

aren't you specialized in optical veterinary care? (or something like that)?
i thought if you specialized, it required even MORE school...
