I can second that. I grew up with American football and never even saw soccer on tv. Things are starting to change though. More kids under age 13 play soccer than any other sport, but thats a very recent statistic.

well i think that if you give the MLS from 2-5 years it will be a good league.. though really, the thing is that in US there isnt the passion there is for soccer.. look at south american soccer, people live for it and breathe it.. if the MLS manages to do that then baseball and ''NFL'' disappear or go to a second plane.. i hope that happens cause US soccer has great potential

i will be honest, individually the US national team players are shit, but when they come together to make a team they are strong, stronger than urugay, mexico, ireland, greece, korea, virtually all south american countries wih 2 exceptions(who have among the greatest individuals in the world)

It England's fault. Soccer comes from English colonist who refused to play rugby (which was becoming football) and called it Association Football. Soon it was just called Association. and then Asoccia for short. By the 20th it was "socca" and now we have Soccer. its just our word, like elevator/lift, apartment/flat, cookie/biscut, soccer/football.
