..and out of a 9 year career in the combat arms field the best officer I ever served under went to the University of Connecticut and was a journalism major. Not that the ring clackers where bad guys, actually a lot of the were very cool. But the guy who still stands out the most as the best officer I ever served under did not even attend the academy.
ok so im haveing a tough time trying to decide between the air force academy and west point. iv already been accepted to west point and im still waiting on air academy but im pretty sure i can get it. what are the pros and cons of each?
@Seraphimaltair Depends what you want to do in the military, but I went to the Air Force Academy and it sucks. If I were to do it over, I would have gone to West Point.
We use laptops. If you wanted a desktop you could probably get it approved, but you have to go through the process of getting it cleared for the WP network. This can be a hassle.
Two possible sources. Most traditions say it stems from the fact that some of our uniform items were used as part of the costumes for the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz, who made "wooping" sounds. The other possibility is West Point's initials: W P.
You applied to all of them? What did you say when they asked you why you wanted to go to them? Normally I would assume the answer would be "I always wanted to be in the (insert branch here)", but you can't always want to be in everything. I would assume the true answer of "You're my backup plan" wouldn't work so well.
wtf i thought plebes were supposed to be miserable. well at least its reassuring that if the air force academy is the same way, and i get in some day, i wont be like in a mental hospital my sophomore 3rd clas year
If you're a smart plebe, you won't take life too seriously all the time. Misery can be dished out, but it only gets to you if you accept it. And this is obviously not representative of a normal day, so don't get any misconceptions.
it is great to see that there still is some humor at woo poo on the hudson even after 23 years. however, that guy with the notre dame t-shirt needs a spirit run to the river by his class mates. ha ha
