But that doesn't change the fact that they are one of the most influential bands and hold 5 of the best Metal Albums of all time. Yes, I'm including Black Album. It's a damn good Metal album. You can't expect a band to continuously put out albums like Ride the Lightning or Justice. Be glad that you got those. Sure their newer albums may not be "Thrash", but they're good for what genre it is. Diversify and Stop bitching.

It was actully an impressive move that they did, going from songs like One to songs like Mama Said. It just shows how diverse they are which is importent in music. Then they did shows like S&M. This shows how diverse they are. Then St Anger but it still showed them getting back to their roots. Now Death Magnetic had showed what they can do back in the thrash metal genre. Diversity=not selling out

I think he kicks ass when it come to creativity (I mean Kill em all. Ride the lightnening, Master of Puppets. Yes I listened all of them). While talking technically he had great technique, not the most diverse but he could rape you with his fingers. If something bothers me about him is that he just play the same riffs as guitar (execpt for some songs no more than 6), or guitar plays the same as bass? he had much more potential, also a shame is that the bass sound is almost killed in the albums.

@27682728: Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, I believe the Russian model. The green box currently made by Electro-Harmonix the "Big Muff Bass Pi" - does a good job at reproducing his tone. He also used a Morley Power Wah Boost wah pedal, which was discontinued a while ago. Just experiment with different sounds and you'll get pretty close...
