  • Hey this is wildman about that record the PPL first can you burn me a personal copy?

  • NO....no Vince Gill. This is their first album with Craig Fuller and George Ed trading licks on pedal and guitar.

  • Craig Fuller on guitar.....sounds like him singing, too.

  • I remember reading the credits on this album, and it was Vince Gill much to my surprise, this is a great song.

  • what ever became of George Ed Powell? Been tryin to find a copy of "Heart of her own"

  • what ever became of George Ed Powell?

  • the fact that alot of ppl's stuff sounds like it was recorded with rusty gear appeals to me. i hate music thats squeaky clean and tight when its done with the mixer. this is great

  • Love the jamming in this tune!!! Sounds like they had a blast doing it.

  • just does'nt get much better than that

  • This sounds like Craig Fuller, doing vocals to me...could be wrong!

  • George Ed Powell vocals, hey I really miss that guy!

  • How can I get a copy of PPL first record?

  • @cmaurer51 I've got a copy. call me at 304-481-7668

  • PLEASE,PLEASE!SOMEONE put on Youtube :P.P.LEAGUE's :LEAVE MY HEART ALONE(I think it was on the album 'Bustin 'Out'....but might have been on the 1st?!)Sounds as good as ANY early N.Young & Crazy Horse!!!!!!It has to be shared!

    Mango Splash

  • great band but nobody beats the Flying Burrito Brothers....

  • One of my all time favorites. It is not on any currently availible cd or Itunes. Thanks for the post. I have the software where one can rip it off the lp and make a wave out of it...

  • I bought this cd as a 2fer with bustin out in 2007 for $14.99 now its used for 74.00

  • @ynotryme Wish i'd found it then. I had the first album not long after it was released.

  • The first line-up of PPL, after Craig Lee Fuller left, post Bustin' Out, they had a very different style. And, in my opinion, much less originality.

  • I haven't heard this in years,,what great memories

  • Wow I havn't heard this since '74 I can never find this album. This is pre- bustin' out isn't it.? My parents had this album and I played it to death.

  • @Frumibandersnatch There's a whole bunch of these albums on eBay. Vinyl and C.D.

  • @Frumibandersnatch I've got this album from back in the 70's but haven't played it in years. Try amazon.

  • Great song.

  • Great sound, Who played Steel pedal on this track?

  • John David Call

  • can anyone say 8-track????

  • I Have this lp, and if i recall correctly i think Ricky Skaggs was part of this group.

    Fantastic singing and playing

  • Perhaps you're thinking of Vince Gill. Ricky Skaggs was never a member of PPL.

  • @graybeard1952 Just read wikipedia which says that he and some other's like Chet Atkins & Johnny Gimble played background instruments.(Though the Wikipedia is not Bible revealed on Mount Sinai!) Dec.34,2009 is the end of the world! The next day will be a different emmanation of Dec.35th 2009.

  • clean guitar, wow!! and great singing!! This is PPL at their best

    who played steel pedal?

  • If you have this one on vinyl it is or will be a classic! "Never leave old albums alone during 70's nitrous oxide invovled partys"

  • can anyone find Take'n the Stage?? by PPL?? Please let me know ..............Thanks Ya'lll

  • I got to see them in concert back in the 70's at the old Ambassador Theatre in St. Louis-the opening band was the Flying Burrito Brothers. They are on the best concerts I've ever seen in my life list (includes OMD)

  • Wow, was Gram Parsons w/them when you seen them??

  • This song by PPL easily ranks as one of the best country rock jams of that era.

Other songs that turn into great country-flavored jams are:

** Richard "Dickie" Betts - "Long Time Gone"

** David Bromberg - New Lee Highway Blues

  • I NEED "TEARS" ON a friggin' CD !

  • on one of their greatest hits cd has

    tears - you're between me...woman on it

search best buy you will find

  • You can find Tears on the Anthology cd, it's available through Amazon.

  • PLEASE someone upload their song that goes "sitting on McKenzie River, listenin' to McKendree Spring...tryin' to get into heaven, tryin' to get into almost anything... you're between me...and what I want to be.."

  • i have the album but no way to play it

poco and pure prairie league both great

    groups and underated

  • I've been looking for Country Song for the last two years, you can't find this album anymore. I had it in the seventies it went walk about on me, replaced it, and that copy walked off. I found a copy in a used record shop in "91" that went out the door too. Thanks Graybeard.

  • Great Jam! Original PPL. Thanks Greybeard1952.
