the fact that alot of ppl's stuff sounds like it was recorded with rusty gear appeals to me. i hate music thats squeaky clean and tight when its done with the mixer. this is great
PLEASE,PLEASE!SOMEONE put on Youtube :P.P.LEAGUE's :LEAVE MY HEART ALONE(I think it was on the album 'Bustin 'Out'....but might have been on the 1st?!)Sounds as good as ANY early N.Young & Crazy Horse!!!!!!It has to be shared!
One of my all time favorites. It is not on any currently availible cd or Itunes. Thanks for the post. I have the software where one can rip it off the lp and make a wave out of it...
Wow I havn't heard this since '74 I can never find this album. This is pre- bustin' out isn't it.? My parents had this album and I played it to death.
@graybeard1952 Just read wikipedia which says that he and some other's like Chet Atkins & Johnny Gimble played background instruments.(Though the Wikipedia is not Bible revealed on Mount Sinai!) Dec.34,2009 is the end of the world! The next day will be a different emmanation of Dec.35th 2009.
I got to see them in concert back in the 70's at the old Ambassador Theatre in St. Louis-the opening band was the Flying Burrito Brothers. They are on the best concerts I've ever seen in my life list (includes OMD)
PLEASE someone upload their song that goes "sitting on McKenzie River, listenin' to McKendree Spring...tryin' to get into heaven, tryin' to get into almost anything... you're between me...and what I want to be.."
I've been looking for Country Song for the last two years, you can't find this album anymore. I had it in the seventies it went walk about on me, replaced it, and that copy walked off. I found a copy in a used record shop in "91" that went out the door too. Thanks Graybeard.

@ynotryme Wish i'd found it then. I had the first album not long after it was released.

The first line-up of PPL, after Craig Lee Fuller left, post Bustin' Out, they had a very different style. And, in my opinion, much less originality.

Fantastic singing and playing

Perhaps you're thinking of Vince Gill. Ricky Skaggs was never a member of PPL.

Wow, was Gram Parsons w/them when you seen them??
JONFATSARNOTT 2 years ago
This song by PPL easily ranks as one of the best country rock jams of that era.
Other songs that turn into great country-flavored jams are:
** Richard "Dickie" Betts - "Long Time Gone"
** David Bromberg - New Lee Highway Blues
