Thanks for your service first of all! I have the 9.5 inch barrel, hard to beat a super redhawk! Think ill try a HOLO sight after seeing this great vid.
Question, where did you get the rail mount for the reflex for the hawk? I've been doing some crawling around ruger's website and haven't found anything yet.
How electronic muffs work is they have an amplifier so you can hear around you when your not shooting. But they electronically switch off the amp when a loud noise is detected. Then you have the basic muff, (no electronic muffling) that gives you the NRR rating whatever the muff is. So yours is 19NRR. That brings the muzzle decibels down only 19 decibels from whatever the peak decible the Magnum produces. You should wear double protection when possible. Inner foam, outer muffs.
The NRR rating on ear protection works like this, if its say a 19 (noise reduction rating), your muffs will reduce your guns muzzle noise by 19 decibels. Not reduced anything above 19 decibels as you said. So a typical gun shot, say 160db would be reduced to only 141db's..still too loud IMO over prolonged years of shooting. Double up with foam plugs, thats 25db right there. You cannot add inner and outer ear NRR to get a high aggregate ie (25+19≠45nrr). It is an average of both.
nice! i have the 9.5 in version.....mine did not come with a weaver style base but i did order one from weigand tactical........on top sits a nikon 30mm dot scope.....i love it...shoots like a dream........
@pokemonrocks08 I would not have been my first choice of sight either but it was all I had laying around when I brought the revolver home. The sight came on an FN PS90 I bought and replaced with an EOTech. I slapped this sight on the Redhawk just for fun. I actually like it though.

I really enjoy your narrative on this video. This Super Redhawk is a fine example of a "man" pistol.
