In a way I agree with you. I think a lot of the time bands' and artists' performances are very contrived and so jumping into the crowd and whatever is a little fake and all the rest of it. However, in a real moment of real onstage celebration I think getting in touch with your audience is brilliant. If you don't like the people watching you, it's also a great way to get right on their tits.
