When I pull my hair into that high ponytail, there's a part longer then the other, and I don't have layers, my hair is just cut in a U shape. How can I cut it?
I have been searching and searching for videos that cut layers, but they all were either really complicated and involved funny angles and sections. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have never loved my hair so much, and coming from me, that is saying something XD
@eitak1190 Not to be know it all, but if your hair is straight then cut it wet. If your hair is really curly or wavy, then cut it an inch longer that wherever you want it to be(while it's dry), then wet it and cut it how ever you want. And remember to style or (i suggest) blow drying it with a brush when your done, even if you were trying to trim off split ends. If I don't do that then my hair is all poofy for a few days.

Yes it is easier to cut your hair when it's wet BUT it's not accurate in the end product. I've used her method many times and my layers come out exactly the way I want them: choppy and face framing. I got my hair cut one length & I HATE it. Could I use this method to cut layers in hair that is one length? Would I cut an inch off the bottom, 1 1/2 inches off the 2nd layer, 2 inches off the third and so on? I feel like if I cut the same length off every time it will stay one length. Doing hair is all about creativity and doing what you like anyways. This works and what she says makes sense. I tried to keep my bangs on the same side. but it didn't really work out. is there a way to keep my bangs in place. because sometimes, my bangs would just straight down and sometimes, it would barely go on the left side. so i dont really know what to do with it anymore. and right now im just putting straight up since its kinda annoying. btw. i love your hair. its awesome :P
@airheadbubble hey! i didnt do it in this video, but i keep my hair to the side all the time now with hairspray! =] i will make a video on how i keep it in place.. before i used hairspray my bangs would get super piecey and just look awful by the end of the day

PLUS this video is meant for people who dont want to get it professionally done and this is an alternative way of getting layers. its simple and easy. and also i cut my hair dry because if you cut it wet and then dry it, its actually shorter then what you thought you cut it. maybe they should have taught you that in school..

@kittkatt032 for sure! if you cut your top layers pretty short it looks cute teased. i actually just cut my hair again since this video but kind of in a different method and i tease it every day. i will try to make a video on that soon, but i do know you can tease your hair with this hairstyle, but its more scene when your top layers are even shorter =]

this is almost exactly how I've been cutting my own hair for the past 19 years ... I've done different variations of course.
And sometimes I don't cut in extra layers.
I just keep bangs and then repeat when I want it shorter again.

amazing vid! im going to try this in a min, since i need a new hair cut x-x i been wanting this style for YEARS and when i went to a stylist, they cut ALL 20'' of my hair off, to about 2 '' i DIED that day XD wanted to beat her with the flat iron! now i dont trust ANYONE with my hair, this way i can cut slowly and at my own pace to make sure i like it, and if i F up, all i have to blame is myself XD

So if you don't have layers but want to keep it the same length you can just go to the second part, cut an inch then the next section and cut an inch and it will work?
I'm going to try ^^ It looks pretty easy.

I usually cut my own hair but I have the hardest time cutting my layers and I wanted to find a new way to do it. I want to do it this way but I'm afraid I may mess up since my hairs curly I don't know how it would react lol

@alwayzmeteri i cut my hair wet because i tried it dry and my hair is just too thick, but yeah it turned out great, just be aware that when u cut it wet it will shrink when it dries

@kittkatt032 for sure! if you cut your top layers pretty short it looks cute teased. i actually just cut my hair again since this video but kind of in a different method and i tease it every day. i will try to make a video on that soon, but i do know you can tease your hair with this hairstyle, but its more scene when your top layers are even shorter =]
