On a side note, I remain convinced that the Slayers party is based on how a DnD party actually ACTS as opposed to how they're written.
You've got the powergaming munchkin (Lina), the guy playing the warrior who didn't read the rulebook (Gourry), the guy who's taking the roleplaying WAY too seriously (Zelgadis), and the idiot playing the priest/paladin who gets up in the party's faces when they do bad stuff (Amelia).

yea there are in this show. non consistancys i noticed taht too with the whole. not know abotu zanaffer. though this series takes parts form the books (novels) which imo are better. and gourry is better and lina isnt so over powered. hell gourry at one point isnt jsut fighitn his own fight, he runs off and save ameila and and zel. then lina. then goes back to his fight. fricking awesome. and zumma is way more bad ass in the novels as well.
These motives have been so flawed lately ill avenge Gav by killing lina who didnt kill Gav and sorta avenged him anyway and now ill take revenge by destroying those countries that tried to help save us from an incurable illness but someone stole it and its all there fault not the thiefs! Sigh atleast Xellows pointed out the obvious flaw this time.

Yeah. In fact now Lina has Ragna Blade. And also they could cast triple Dragon Slave (Lina combo Pokota combo Sylphiel). Note that Phibrizzo couldn't stand double Dragon Slave by Lina combo Sylphiel; he barely made it out alive.
yeah srsly dude if you're going to keep leaving negative comments about it then don't watch it at all. It's your opinion it sucks, no one else's, so keep it to yourself. :/ You just ruin it for those that do have some interest in it at all.
Anyway, even if the graphic is not perfect. The important thing is the story which in my opinion is great and I simply love it. Come on, South Park has paper cut outs for its animations, but people love it not for the quality of the graphic but for actually content.

Duclis is way too sympathetic to be an awesome villain.
I can't help but feel sorry for the guy, given his motives and reasons for doing what he's doing.

No, this series is original. they skipped the events from the newer Manga.
the OVAs are adapted from the novels which feature Lina and Naga.
