for their multicultral music festival thingy,

i just found out and bought a cajon today

its really easy to pick up for me as long as finger tapping

instead of playing it like a drum ive been trying to make

sounds with every finger touches so i volumed up microphone

this instrument is sheer awesomeness i tell you

  • holy shit! sick

  • David Kuckhermann is an amazing percussionist! The footwork changes the pitch of the drum and is a technique that you don't always see used.

  • Woahoho!! That's some sick playing!!

  • As you see, this peruvian instrument is so cool.

  • Seriøst god cajon! :O

  • is this The Soul by Mario Cortés? .. didn't see LP anywhere...

  • youtube.com/watch?v=qh2DvAee90M

  • This is EXCELLENT!

For an alternative style of playing check out "kingdoncajon" or "Kismet Hardy" on YouTube - not as tricky playing as this guy, but check it out......

  • i just bought a cajon yesterday. this is a good demonstration of cool tricks and techniques.

  • cool!!

  • I can't deside which one i want: Cajon or Ibo drum.. I know that you can make better drum sounds with Cajon and better effects with Ibo but still it's hard to deside..

  • Got my first Cajon today! nothing expensive just a "MyCajon" but still its pretty cool!!

  • is raising the feet necessary? hahaha

  • @jookolz He is placing his foot on the cajon, changing the pitch of it. So no, using his foot is not necessary, but it gives a MUCH larger range on the instrument.

  • @jookolz He's placing hit heel on the cajon and it changes the quality of the strike.

  • !!

  • What type of cajon is that? Its sounds great!

  • @taichimig its a LP Soul cajon

  • What is he doing with his leg? It kind of creeps me out

  • @Vofacu2 Hes changing the pitch of the sound.

  • @ekeblad Oh, thanks. The video is no longer disturbing

  • @Vofacu2 same question here.is it important?what for

  • omg, that first beat was so f'ing catchy man!

  • @khoiluu98 than you should start listen to Jump Up DNB music

  • is there a big difference between a cheap and a high quality cajon???

  • @hartmut5000 yes, the wood can be cheaper, the sound wont be as crisp, and the snares might not be chain it might be like a wire strip. id say get a good crisp sounding one for a reasonable price around 200 maybe?

  • amazing

  • this is my favorite uncommon music instrument!!! lol... I thought it was just called a boombox...

  • @kamyl999 boombox?....nah nah bro,the cajon is an afro-peruvian instrument,it's been there for at least 2 centuries, now this guy is just makin noise, anybody can do that

  • Nice. This guy likes drum and bass.

  • fantastic

  • i love it

  • Stunning playing!

I play cajon with rock/blues bands at open mic nights and small gigs. I play a Kingdon Cajon which is made in England.

I play it tilted back, sitting behind it, rather than sitting on top of it which is easier on my back - I played a 3 hour jam night like this once.

Got some viedos on YouTube - if you search for Kingdon Cajon.

  • hi everybody!i need some help..i want to buy a cajon for maximum 150 Euro or 170 $.but i dont know which one is the best for this price..pls help me what kind of cajon shoud i buy .Thanx drummers

  • I'm planning on asking for a cajon for Chistmas this year. I can't decide whether to get a Bongo Cajon or a regular Cajon. I want to get the Bongo Cajon for it's size and it's cheap price. But I also want a regular one because it's the real thing, thus, becoming closer to it's authenticity. Bongo Cajon:$49.99 US DolalrsCajon: $99.99. Should I pay $50 for the real thing?

  • yes

the cajon is much more fun cos you can play any surface of it and distort the sound more

    definitely get a cajon

  • Build your own, you get the bonus of saved money, the joy of making it yourself and the sense of accomplishment, when done. Plus you can experiment with different aspects.

  • never seen a foot bein used like that lol

  • looooooooooooooooool

  • q porra é essa O.O

  • Q ACES CON LA PATA??????????

  • WHAT A NOISE

  • how well would a cajon work as a drum throne?

  • I enjoyed this perfomance ... New to the cajon ..very cool

  • There are high-quality cajons here and I'm sure you'll find one in the right price that is just perfect for you. I already bought one and man, way better that tapping your desk.

  • Thats it, I must have one.

  • Yeah nice Drum&Bass Beat keep up

  • it's dinamite small, powerful, but now what about the praxis, how long does i take to obtain such a wonderful result

  • what are these ive always wondered.??

  • Hey, Could someone who knows a lot about Cajons message me? Im planning on buying one, but im not sure which one of the 3 that i've selected, i should buy. Thanks in advance

  • hmm what I'm wondering is can play this Cajon in an accoustic session? let say I'm playing led zepplin songs can I use this Cajon instead of using drum?

  • No problem my friend,I play Led Zepp songs on Cajon at unplugged type gigs!

  • Of course?

  • What is the brand of this Cajon. I know it says SOUL but I cant seem to find one. I really love the bass tones of this Cajon.

  • FOr the record I believe I have discovered this is a Mario Cortes designed cajon possibly an LP141

  • esse cara é meuio foda!

  • We have high-quality cajons here in my country for $25... Very cheap price for a very cool beat box. Nice.

  • OMG REALLLY!!i want one!!

  • and where exactly do you live?

  • ive never seen it being played with the foot, is that common?

  • absolutely - by doing this you can change the pitch

  • yes its a cajon technique

  • If you've got some rhythm and some percussion background, it wouldn't be to hard to play this would it?

  • nope, not at all. The only demanding are good finger rolls in that case. I personally would play bare foot or with socks, otherwise you keep on erasing the logo.

  • I WANNA LEARN HOW TO PLAY THIS!!

  • wow, cajons fascinate me, so many different sounds

  • mas belinya brapa?

  • im really digging the cajon drum 'n bass

  • These things are great but u need a proper amp to hear them properly.

  • Actually i think it's already very loud.

  • Bueno, si quieres enfocarte en el orígen del cajón, hay que mirar hacia Africa.

  • This just shows it's versitilty as in instrument

    Anything from Flamenco to Drum'n'Bass!

  • wait, so what your trying to say is that he is creating music incorrectly, this is an art form, there is no right or wrong way to do this, he is just using it to create his own sound, so do not say it isnt a good use of a cajon, that is just your own personal preferance. anyway any instruments pourpous in music is to be used in the artists own way, not to be kept to one single style.

  • I'm not saying that, What i ment was that ppl play the cajon without know where it comes from. Plus making new kind of sound and rythms its fine. u just should get more info of what you play :P

  • @littlekatanaweilder you sort of had a point there, then it derailed wildly when you mis-spelled 'purpose' ; kind of ruined the whole effect. the strange ways you use commas is also confusing when you are trying to appear as though you know what you're talking about.

  • I vision ninjas fighting when listening to this.

  • is that hard to play or is it pretty easy??

  • I have a cajon, and that is much harder than it looks.

  • alex15mansur... meu, que comentário deplorável... o cara meteu um drum bass ali! não sabia que isso era possível num cajon! hahah
