@EccentricBriChu guys lag means TWO things, there is latency, caused from your internet, and a bad framerate due to a shit computer -_- He has bad LATENCY, you can have bad latency on the fastest computer in the world, if you live on the other side of the world from the server...
just alwasys make sure you shoot a little ahead of where they are moving, even with 280 + ping it is possible to compete, just gotta be on your toes and understand what the high ping causes. That being said, it can get frustrating.
@mechman54321 no, lag compensation is shit. It gets exploited, global agenda needs more local server, or you need better internet. Lag compensation rewards bad connections, and penalizes good connections, which is why 'artifical latency' boxes can be bought, to exploit these issues. No lag compensation pls -_-
I have worse. Its so bad the hair on my character stays for a couple seconds. And I can aim when I shoot. Heck, I can barely use my sword. And I havent even gotten through the dang tutorial!

yep everytime they relesed a patch my ping and fps began to drop by 5-10 fps on each patch i hardly get 30 fps avg now even though i have i52500k oc to 4.1ghz and gtx560ti graphics. i have been waiting for firefall beta they sure like to keep us waiting for it.

@xedxp He cant do something, Hi-rez are the ones who has to do something, thats the point. If you dont live in America you are pretty much screwed in this game. I live in EU and have to play with 200ms, its not as bad as this guy, but its still a huge disadvantage. By upgrading my internet connection to the highest available here I can get down to 170-180ms, which is still huge.

@xedxp the porblem is not only related to internet i have got 50mb int it still laggs the problem is with the game and its core engine. i can easily play crysis 2 at almost highest setting and still get 75 avg fps. The problem is this is a mmo based on and engine which was degined for fps. Hirez has to make some kind of additional program to remove this problem.

An MMO will always revolve around a central server(s). When playing an rpg these issues are alleviated somewhat since combat is slower and you don't need a low ping to play well. This is a shooter, therefore all players connected who are not near the server will be at an incredible disadvantage.
This video is just to establish the shortcomings of an MMO shooter trying to cater for a global audience.

This is the reason I didnt get Global Agenda every MMO I have tried I have gotten about 100ms to 200ms! For a 1st Person Shooter to be fun you need a max of 30ms which just isnt possible with 6000 people on 1 server

I partially agree with what you're saying here asecondreality. The latency issues either have to be addressed with the introduction of some sort of client based hit detection or latency compensation, or HiRez needs to provide oceanic servers. Warhammer: Age of Reckoning had a server that was hosted in Australia. So it's a completely viable option for HiRez, and the server requirements wouldn't be as high as those required for WAR.
Having said this, there are a couple of classes that are quite playable in PvP that don't rely heavily on your ability to compensate for latency, such as Robotics that rely on AI drones and turrets, poison medics that rely a lot on AoE poisons and democon (recon spec'd into bombs).

@mercyoz Very very true, IMHO lag is a problem, but its not a problem to make you boycott a game. After a while you get used to it and start to compensate (it means you cant be super competative though, you just get bagged for being 'bad'). If you weren't a dolt you'd realize 'better internet' doesn't substitute for geographical distance. the amount you have to lead for every hitscan weapon is ridiculous due to the fact that you are competing with people with far lower pings and who barely need to lead at all.
You live in the states, so you haven't encountered the issues myself and many other discontented international customers have experienced. take your petty ignorance somewhere else.

Gam has run fine for me since Decmber 31st. It just started with the wierd server hang for me last weekend.

I am a recon and have changed my fps game play just to be par to every 1 else. i hit around 360ms on a good day.
