Ebert's always been a provoker and a bit of a loudmouth, and his comments about Dunn were certainly out of line, but if you've been a longtime reader of his like me and millions of others, you know that he has an intelligent, erudite, and sensitive mind. I'm certain he wasn't intending to cause the harm that he did. It's fine to take issue with him over it; he's a public figure, goes with the territory. But don't let it turn the man into the devil. Ryan Dunns dead, alright. hes fuckin dead. he drove drunk and killed himself and his friend. Get over it. You drunk, dumbfuck Jackass fans make him out to be some kind of savior when he was just a guy who did crazy shit on TV. Yes, it was entertaining, but don't make him out to be Jesus or anything. Let the man rest in peace by shutting up about this whole thing, otherwise your turning more people off to him than on.
@DarkProphet94 Yeah, he is dead so why are you bursting a nut over him?. Ebert's (who was a long a drunk) cheap publicity stunt failed to promote his bio. He is over like his 'fans" trolling his opinions on what to see
@MichaelLeroi i read comments like that on one of his other reviews (i think it was the quick and the dead). it's mystifying. i can only guess that he ripped one of their favorite stupid movies like the goonies and he ruined their childhood as a result or something? or maybe there are just a bunch of freaks on youtube? it's definitely weird
@combinownage If anything Dunn's fans should have appreciated his comment....it was just as irreverent and reckless as their hero with the clear death wish....apparently they can't take a joke

@TheBitchinbabs Why does that make it all the more sad that you're an anti-intellectual who judges a person's value by their looks and shows it by trolling on Siskel & Ebert videos (seriously, what?).
Oh right because when you're old and grey (assuming you're not already) you'll have absolutely no worth since your looks will be gone and just ignorant lady with saggy tits will be left. And then we'll see who the loser is.
I'm sure you'll respond with something intelligent. Wait, no you won't.
@JawMissing Yes! I suppose I should feel sorry for Roger since he looks like a groundhog and is now missing his jaws, but a lifetime of trashing others makes me think it is just karma.

Such a hilarious, heart warming, underestimated film, the only bad part bout this movie is that it unfortunately ended Bill Murray's and Harold Ramis's friendship, over creative differences.
This movie kicks ass. Bill Murray is god. It is so very original, so very clever, sad and sometimes dark (if you think about it, the suicides etc). Apparently Phil Connors was supposed to have been stuck in that loop for years and years aswell. It isn't a matter of weeks we're talking about. It has a brilliant message and tells it in such a fantastic way, Murray always keeping it from falling into overly sentimental territory. I watch it every February 2nd :)
@SparksDrinker Yes & that is why I congratulated you over all the other people who watched this video to point that out...you have truly unlocked the secret to youtube commenting!
This movie has alot of cool similarities to the "Inferno" by Dante. How he kinda goes through his own personal hell and eventually commits all of the deadly sins. The characters are symbolic, too. Bill Murray - Dante, Andie McDowell - Beatrice, and even Chris Elliot symbolizes Virgil. It's a really cool movie and it's one of the reasons I like it so much.
@aquapendulum Oh yeah. That was an awesome movie experience. Not totally original but more originally filmed than 99% of what we have seen the last years.
This is Ebert? OMG. The Groundhog looks better. And this was BEFORE cancer?

This movie has alot of cool similarities to the "Inferno" by Dante. How he kinda goes through his own personal hell and eventually commits all of the deadly sins. The characters are symbolic, too. Bill Murray - Dante, Andie McDowell - Beatrice, and even Chris Elliot symbolizes Virgil. It's a really cool movie and it's one of the reasons I like it so much.

superb stuff from Murray & of course Ramis. So many memorable scenes it's hard to pick a favourite really.

Bill Murray's defining role and an absolutely faultless script. A modern day fairytale.

There are better movies....I mean... sure there are. Just can't come up with any right now. ;^)
Let's just face it it was such an original concept and so well made that it is in a class of it's own.
5 thumbs up. ;^)

@aquapendulum Oh yeah. That was an awesome movie experience. Not totally original but more originally filmed than 99% of what we have seen the last years.
