I had the lap band put in on May5, 2005. I followed the program faithful for two years without any weight loss. I swam daily and did 3 miles on a bike. After a couple years on the program, I had a couple dear friends who passed away. My resolve went with them.
To make a long story short, I did not lose any weight (did not gain either). None of the Drs or nursed believed that I was following the program.
I am scheduled for a gastic bypass the middle of this month. Whew !!
muscle weighs more than fat.. maybe you're being too hard on yourself.. I would suggest you measure yourself instead of weighing.. it might just be that your body right now is just adjusting
grrrrrr my message wont post in comments : {} i will send it private.Hugs girl and stay strong U will lose i promise even if its slower than we want ....MAry
Hi Brandy. Don't despair. You still need to get your fills. On average it takes between 4 and 6 fills before you reach the point where you have enough restriction to really be able to lose weight. So, hang in there, you will get there! This is the period of time before you have that restriction that can be slow, based on my observations of lapband patients. The elyptical is tough for me too...it took me a long time to work up to 30 minutes. I had to start with 5 min increments.
are you doing your measurements once a month ? you will find even if your stalling you still lose inches!! and it help take the edge of if you stall :) keep a record and you can compare
Are you drinking with your meals?? My doctor told me NO and I mean NO liquids because it flushes out you throat and you can eat almost like you don't have it. However, I see a change and I hope you do well, just don't get discouraged :) Bless you!
Be careful what you say to me Miss Minda. You just might end up with a LOOOOOOONG email...lol. Just ask Renee (bobosmama)But thank you for your support. I didn't think it would be this hard..seriously. UGH
anything you focus on you will get results with. Don't get down! Just keep on working out- keep it varied and interesting so you don't get bored. I can see your body starting to transform. Just think thats 24 lbs that are GONE! Lap band patients do drop the weight slower than bypass patients- so don't feel down on yourself. You are doing really well Brandy. - and anytime you want to vent- write me! hugs
