I play a decent standard of footy & only ever use my PS3 for footy games. PES has always been top but 2010 lost it a bit. Having played both Fifa & Pes in 2011 I can safely say PES has it back. With Fifa I felt I was bogged down in mid field boredom for most of the time. PES2011 for a proper football game. Listen to the dude on this videos summary - says it all.

FIFA 11 destroys PES most people can`t play FIFA as its so complicated to play properly constant watching of the ball movement reading the game having to vary passes etc. PES is for people who suck at football games and want a very basic arcade game with shocking AI awful animation and croud chants fit only for a megadrive. I am former FIFA fan,switched to PES because of BAL mode,but I must admit,PES gameplay is fucken retarded,especially in BAL mode

Teammates kick ball out even when it's not necessary,won't pass you the ball in some occasions,give you very bad through passes,won't attack opponnent sometimes,try to drible through 3 players at once(and then trip and act like crazy) etc.

Also,shooting is very bad,I can shoot like that,Proffessional footballers should be able to do better

But graphics is amazing :)

Once you master passes you realize that defenders and goalies are just as stupid and occasionally useless as ever. Certain players can still overrun their markers with unrealistic ease. There are glitches that were present in the series from PES5. KONAMI should have focused on fixing these instead on 'reinventing' the gameplay. That's why I used the term 'repainted' earlier.

I have played both games on PC and from my perspective i think the gameplay has improved a lot in FIFA 11 and graphics is good.On the other hand the in-game graphics in PES11(PC) is 20 times better than FIFA 11 believe me. And the gameplay is also good and also majority of player faces is very much nearer to their real faces. There are lots of extra contents also in PES 11 which are real fun. So in my opinion PES 2011(PC) is better than FIFA 11(PC)

boys lets be HONEST. neither PES nor FIFA 11 are GREAT. they're OK. PES is not fluid at all compared to FIFA, whereas FIFA is inferior from a tactical standpoint.

PES players look like hunchbacks, they run bent in two and defenders dont close in on the ball enough, while with FIFA's big teams you can literally run over opponents just by pressing them, it get boring quite fast.

PES 11 shooting is off too, and you need NAT2 connection

for me it's all about GAMEPLAY and both are just about OK

I've played both. PES nailed the gameplay and varied attacking and defending styles of the real life teams. Teams attack and defend like they should. In FIFA, they pass straight up the middle of the pitch-everytime. Now, maybe that's because they have many, many teams and don't have enough disc space(I'm looking at you xbox 360 and your pitiful dvd disc) to program in how each team behaves in real life. I don't know, but I personally like having to play against different styles in PES.

I don't understand how you believe PES is a better simulation than fifa. Based on the comparison, FIFA is still more realistic. First off, in real life soccer, the ball doesn't just stop in front of the goal every time,, defenders don't stop defending and allow your attacker to just run right by them to get an amazing shot off, lol.. PES is more of a unrealistic arcade game and FIFA is definitely more realistic just by the passing alone.

Pro Evo franchise got me addicted for years! when online gaming (football) started coming along Pro Evo started being lousy....so i decided to switch to FIFA to give it a try...turns out they had caxed up and online they were way better...FIFA was better on new gen... was hard for me to admit this as a PRO EVO fan i was...now im going to get both cus it seems both are good and Pro Evo works online!.cheers!
