If Vince doesn't want to put Demolition in the Hall of Fame, which by the way is ridiculous, he needs to atleast induct Bill Eadie. Eadie had a more than impressive run in the WWF not just as Ax but as The Masked Superstar. I heard that before they decided on having Iron Sheik beat Backlund for the title, the plan was for Eadie to win the belt as The Superstar. Eadie was a major player back in the day and is more deserving of an HOF spot than almost anyone. And don't even get me started on Bruno
@dreamwarrior2008 I saw LOD & Warrior take on Demolition at MSG back when I was in high school. Demolition lost of course, which sucked, but with Ax on the way out and LOD being new to the WWF I expected it to happen. Not a bad main event...I can't remember a single other match from the card though lol.
It was upseting to see them dwindle the way they did. Bt none the less history will remember them as a great team, with a great look that helps make today's wrestling look even more dull. Despite the improved moves.
Just watched Raw for the first time in a couple years tonight and the first thing I noticed was how Gawd-awful the theme songs were. A theme song is supposed to get you excited about what you are about to see. The only thing I could get excited about was changing the channel.
These cats were way before their time. True, there were-and still exist-better tag teams in wrestling history, but Ax and Smash held a class of their own hands down.
My all time favorite tag team...Funny how they we're initially just supposed to be a Road Warriors knock off, but ended up surpassing them in popularity for quite a while. Anybody remember Barry Darsow's stint as an "evil" Russian along side Nikita & Ivan Koloff against the Road Warriors in the old NWA? Or Ax's "Masked Superstar" character in the late 70's? Those were the days...todays wrestling is garbage.
they were the greatest tag teams ever, I dont like when Barry Darsow entered the gimmick battle royal as the Repo Man though instead of Smash of Demolition
damn i havent teams like demonlition and legion of doom (aka The road warriors) in a loooooooong fuckin time.....those teams were fuckin invincible er somethin...
HHH once said "If you're not here to be World Champ you don't belong in this business". On behalf of the Demolition and Road Warriors not to mention cruiserweights that put their bodies on the line and strived to be better and better without having to screw their bosses daughter. "FUCK YOU!!!"
I agree. Demolition actually had success individually as well as a tag team. LOD, not so much. and Demolition didn't rely on freak looks to get over. They could actually wrestle and both had good careers before teaming
pg needs the hype it did in the 80s with matches like ricky staemboat vs randy savage but now it has freakin bs matches like sheameas vs freakin GOLDUST REALLY
You know, a lot of people moan and bitch about the wwe being PG now but it was PG in the 80's and it worked. So the only conclusion I can make is that the storylines suck now compared to what it was back then.
I just don't see it. I mean outside the spikes, which weren't even the same size, I don't see them as a knockoff of the Road Worriers like a lot of people said back in the day. Ax and Smash had their own unique personality. Now the Powers of Pain(Barbarian and Warlord) were absolute rip offs of the Worriers, and they did a horrible job of it.
you are correct, but what it was was the road warriors were the first real power house tag team that just bullied everyone guys would leave the building rather then work them.

@MrWWEinFrance This is done by Rick Derringer. Same guy who did "Real American" that was mostly used for Hogan. Some reason, this theme sounds a little bit slow.

Almost sounds as if KISS sings this. Which would be ironic. Also, call them ripoffs of The Road Warriors, but they weren't clones ala Warlord and Barbarian. Their heel run was the best, and one of the best tag teams in the old school WWF. Only the Bulldogs and Valentine/Beefcake were better imho.
