I am a Sudoku nut. Immediately disliked this pitch. Tried out Str8ts (what a stupid name) Verdict: for the average puzzler Str8ts is actually a lot more enjoyable than Sudoku. Now I understand why the Dragons wanted this one so bad.

This video actually pissed me off. Some guy comes on stage basically blowing his own trumpet that he has found the next Sudoku. Yeh, right whatever.

When I actually tried a Str8ts I started to understand quickly why the three Dragons would jump on this one. The Sudoku people will block this puzzle with all their might.

Wow. I watched this video and kept telling myself that I know this guy from somewhere. It bugged me not being able to figure it out. Turns out I have 16 pieces of his art on my wall. Turned a piece over and sure enough their is his signature. I also bought Crossword Pyramids one of his many games at "One of a kind " while visiting Toronto. I remember having to wait outside his booth for 20 minutes to get in to look around. I never did get a chance to talk to Jeff .

Ok, so I stumbled upon this video by chance. I am a huge Sudoku fan and have always said there will never be anything that will be able to compete with Sudoku.

Boy was I ever wrong. Str8ts is a much better puzzle for the masses. It reminds me instantly of poker and even rummy. It isn't better than Sudoku just better suited for the masses. Great idea intersecting sequences forcing them to work with each other.

Str8ts should slowly work its way around the world. Nice pitch.
