Hendrix's album version wasn't very lively. Not very much energy. But when he played it live, he kicked butt!

I am a huge U2 fan. But honestly, musically I like this version the best. Everyone raves about Jimmy Hendrix' version. I don't see what's so great about it. I like this one because the Edge has a wicked solo (rare thing sometimes) and also its more up beat. It's ill.

Whatever. Anyone who listens to classic rock in a wide range thinks every jimmy hendrix solo is like godly or something. They all sound the same. At least U2 changed their music all of the time. But getting back to this song. The reason I like it, is because the Edge never really has a solo as cool as that, and this version is more upbeat than hendrix, so i dont know wtf your talking about.
