  • Lack of windows but riding on them on the Central Wales line, they seem to rattle a lot at top speed.

  • I remember when these were brought into service in the early or mid '80s. There was a magazine with Daley Thompson next to one about to sprint off from starting blocks.

  • they are diesel engined (cummins straight 6 285 bhp) with voith hydraulic torque conversion transmission.

  • what year did you film this video?

  • Ok, help a poor yank out here. Are these diesel driven? Diesel electric? Just curious. Forgive me, I'm an American that has never been to the UK.

  • Just Diesel mate.

  • @Intercity47GBRail I thought so. Thanks very much!

  • the 150s operate down south

  • @edinlad2007

and in the midlands :P but theyre being replaced with those ugly turbostars >:(

  • same body as 318 driving cars, class 156s carriages are longer.

  • Do the 150's still operate throughout Scotrail?

  • i love the classic 150

  • What is the derfice beween the 150 and the 156,s???>

  • a class 150 in a 2 carriage sprinter with 2 doors in the middle where a class 156 is a Super Sprinter with 2 doors at both end

but there relly is no different between becuase there in the sprinter family

  • When I was a lad, DMUs were for puffs. Something to spot when it was quiet. They used to sound like clapped out busses and at a certain rev level used to go RORRRRRP! as the exhaust resonated.

  • 0.55 though driver of this class 150 was gunna spad for a sec there :)

  • Through a yellow?

  • i think atw have the most 150s now becaues we have had about 13 off fgw all of the scotrail ones 15 ex anglia/central so i get to travel on them a lot if you ask me they are the best units atw have because they never seem 2 break down.

  • The ATW 150s have more tables than the refurbed FGW ones do...

  • i think arrivas 150/2 hav 8 and fgw have 6 im not two sure

  • Wish they'd bring em back on the cambrian lines, instead of the dimly lit & drab '158's Arriva have running right now :( Anyone remember the 150/1's in original provincial light blue livery? Any footage of these in this livery would be great :)

  • I miss the Anglia 150s. A 156 just isn't the same :(

  • I wish ScotRail still had 150s! 5*

  • i like 150s, I don't see why everyone hates them, 144s are better though

  • nah 150s are better you get leg room and a head rest at least

  • The 150s have rock hard seats and not enough space, I much prefer the 156.

  • ATW Gor mst of tha CL150s that was owned by scotraill the bst units atw have got i travell on em alot

  • I miss the 150's in Scotland!

  • exellent video

    150s are the best!
