I remember when these were brought into service in the early or mid '80s. There was a magazine with Daley Thompson next to one about to sprint off from starting blocks.
When I was a lad, DMUs were for puffs. Something to spot when it was quiet. They used to sound like clapped out busses and at a certain rev level used to go RORRRRRP! as the exhaust resonated.
i think atw have the most 150s now becaues we have had about 13 off fgw all of the scotrail ones 15 ex anglia/central so i get to travel on them a lot if you ask me they are the best units atw have because they never seem 2 break down.
Wish they'd bring em back on the cambrian lines, instead of the dimly lit & drab '158's Arriva have running right now :( Anyone remember the 150/1's in original provincial light blue livery? Any footage of these in this livery would be great :)
Lack of windows but riding on them on the Central Wales line, they seem to rattle a lot at top speed.

Ok, help a poor yank out here. Are these diesel driven? Diesel electric? Just curious. Forgive me, I'm an American that has never been to the UK.

i like 150s, I don't see why everyone hates them, 144s are better though

nah 150s are better you get leg room and a head rest at least

The 150s have rock hard seats and not enough space, I much prefer the 156.
