  • What do people say when they enter someone else's house? I think it means sorry for the intrusion.

  • @xRainbowxPearlx

    ojamashimasu :D

  • @au0xxxx26 Thx :)

  • I hear Kawaii a lot in Japan... I'm also a klutz who gets Kawaii-so a lot.

  • i put that lessons on my web site which is rehberyasincom or if you search rehberyasin on the google you should see those lessons

  • Arigatou Hiroko, I just have one question. lets say i know the words: thats a nice car, all in japanese can i just put them together and say those 4 words or is there a "trick" you need to know about?

  • @Rockmirth Word order in a sentence is different in Japanese and English, so you can't just line up Japanese words in English sentence order. You have to learn Japanese grammar and sentence structure first :)

  • ANATA WA KAWAII DESU!!

  • @AppiiAppii hiragana

  • is this written in kanji or hiragana? :3

  • that's an ugly jacket just saying *coughs*

  • @cristianrockerchick Hey uhm...you know you misspelled christian , right? ...just sayin'.

  • @sydonabike Yes, thank you for pointing out the obvious. When i made this account i thought that you wrote Christian the same way you write it in Spanish which is Cristiana. But apparently that's not how you spell it.

  • @cristianrockerchick ...well...nevermind then...do you chew bubblicious? it smells great!

  • @cristianrockerchick ...strawberry or watermelon? ..swear I

smell that stuff way over here!

  • @sydonabike I like watermelon more than strawberry! :D

  • Arigatoo gozaimsu

  • i love you'r videos! and u are kawai!

  • Can "uso!" also mean "you're lying!" ?

  • @eescoto71 Yes. Yes it does.

  • Sugoi = Amazing/Incredible... Hiroko, u 4gt another expression: Yare yare = My my/ goodness gracious... also Mataku = Seriously eg... "Seriously, the things I do for these people.." BTW, yare yare is usually followed by Sho ga nai = Shikata ga nai (in polite speech) which means "It can't be helped"!! Enjoy (BTW, I can't speak Japanese, I'm just an anime FANATIK =P Call me Ichimaru Sonkei!! Did u know Nihongo = Japanese (language) | Nihonjin = Japanese (person/people) | Japan = Nippon/Nihon

  • Does the bar used in the end of Kawai extended the previous syllable?

  • Can you say Sugoi Desu?

  • @kwall17martinez Yes you can.

  • @HajisSaya Cool im gonna watch that:D you should check out Ghost Hunt. Got any other animes??

  • can you please tell me how to say and how to write: what is your name? how old are you? how much is it?

  • @MrGtalcs1 what is you're name: anata no namae wa desu ka

  • My friends will sometimes end there sentences with "mon" it confuses me!

  • sensei wa kawai nhe..!!! :)

  • ひろこ 結婚してください!

  • sadly i live in texas, when i screw around with my friends i sometimes say "baka" but them being mexican "baka" in spanish means cow..... i was laughing so hard afterwards

  • thats one ugly ass coat

  • uso = really?!, sugoi = yessss, kawaii = japanese unique phrase of cuteness.

  • if anyone waved their hand like that in western world it would help some think they are autistic yet an entire country does it... psychology is stupid then ey.

  • can we use かわいい on a person, or it's just used on things, animals ?

  • @themanfriends Yes, you can use kawaii to describe a person as well!

  • @themanfriends i think it can also use on a person,mostly girls

  • I think Hiroko is ka wa i!

  • hiroko sensei kawaii!

  • this is really good im going with the scouts to japan and this will so help

  • Subarashi Hiroko-sensei! :)

  • I miss hiroko on here. I learned way better from her lessons.

The funny thing I found though was just for fun I direct translated うそ on google translate and got lie but on twitter, the translate feature came up as "no sh*t"???

  • you can put " de su " in front of " kawai " right ?

  • @iiwade003 You can add "desu" AFTER "kawaii" - this makes the sentence polite :)

  • @japanesepod101 Does Koite Koi mean come here... and if it does not what does it mean.. ?? pls reply

  • oooh my goodness i love this series, thanks so much :D

  • You are awesome! Su go i! :D

  • kawai means so cute right? But I've also heard that when something is cute you say moe. Which is the difference between the both?

  • @EcuadorianFlagShip moe is more like a slang and kawaii is cute. kawaii has 2 i's not 1.

  • I have 2 questions,

    1. what does "mono ga ten da yo" mean I hear this so much especially with different translations.

    2. Would it be better to introduce myself with my english name transllated in to japanese, because i feel wierd when i say my english name when i introduce myself

  • Arrigato Gazoimasu!

    Your videos are great!

I heard that men, women and children speak different.. How?

  • That looks like the same jacket from AAA wore on the pv for Call

  • Hiroko-san you're so funny!

  • If you called someone you were friends with baka, would they treat it like calling a friend in english stupid, or does the term baka offend people in Japan?

  • @LightningFoxDusk It really depends on how it is said (tone, etc). If said in a playful way to your friends, it can be taken as just a joke, but if you said it in a serious way, it could be taken as an offensive remark. So be careful!

  • Y'all shoud see Luffy from the anime/manga 'One Piece' when he says Sogoi!!! its totally Sugoi!!!! (U can literally see his Jaws Dropping) haha ^_^

  • i heard somethink like "okari"?? kan u pleas say it in english pls

  • We are waiting for lesson 9.........I hope to learn how to ask people for directions and to order food at restaurants.

  • icried this is the last vid

  • Hiroko-Sensei is a good sensei :)

  • thanks this is helping me!

  • That was not a cute jacket BUT I LOVE YOU!

  • Hiroko sensei may I ask you something? what does Ai no tame ni mean? I know that Ai means love and no means of but still I dont know what tame ni means.

  • @MrSilver497 i think tame means for the sake of ... ai no tame ni : for the sake of love ^^'

  • @ikaramelya Arigatou gozaimasu

  • Is it okay to mix hirogana and katakana in the same sentence?

  • @ConjuredBread Katakana is only (maybe there are some exceptions I don't know of though) used for borrowed words like "orenji juusu" - オレンジジュース (from Orange juice) or to write non-japanese names. If you're writing japanese words or names you should use Hiragana or Kanji :)

  • @ButaNoTsubasa Even English names? Hiragana doesn't seem to support the letters in my name. I don't know anything about Kanji, I guess I'll get to it once I memorize both Hiragana and Katakana. Anyway thanks for you help!

  • @ConjuredBread Yes, English names too :) It's true that Hiragana doesn't support all letters, that's why we have to change it a bit to write it in hiragana. For example, Michael would probably be written as Maikeru, or Dennis as Denisu etc.

    No problem :)

  • Arigatou

    KAWAIIIIIIII!

    Thank you so much.

  • In anime i see a lot girls talking "kawaiiiii". On other cultures than Japanese i think it is not seen that often (sharing that emotion so often). I am not sure, but i have that feeling.

  • I liked this part.

It is jacket... and it is FOR SALEE!!!!!

Like that is really unbeliveble that jackei is for sale :D

    I like that lessons. Arigato!

  • ROFL!! Hiroko sensei's expressions are funny :P, who damn took my wallet!! thanks for the lesson.

  • whoops sorry about my last comment i made a mistake ><

  • i thought sugoi means "amazing"

  • If you are using this phrases for sarcasm, is it the same pronouciation/words but different tone? I'm more of a sarcastic person ^_^ like, "no way.. -_-"

  • Thank you, you just made me learn a new phrase in japanese " ケエキ輪うそです!" ;P haha

  • sugooooooi!

  • i thought "kawai" has to "i's" so isn't it spelled "kawaii"?

  • @nik10hedgehog Yes! You are right. On the whiteboard it is actually spelled kawaī (the line over the i means that it is doubled), but the "kawaii" spelling probably would have been easier to understand.

  • @japanesepod101 What was your first language? Guessing Japanese, but you speak English so well...

  • @japanesepod101 the word kawaii ends with character 一.doesn't that mean one(ichi)?

  • @CoolGirlKitty2 It was used to make the kawai sounds longer, but you're right it's kawaii かわいい

  • I have to be careful to enunciate because sometimes people think i said "kowai"(sp?) which is scary but i mean kawai haha

  • who else hasnt learnt a thing through watching these vids.... USO!

  • Youre really Kawaiiiiiiiiiii :D!!

  • Learn Japanese SU GO İ!

  • If anyone wants to watch more of her videos, she has a youtube channel. She talks about things going on in Japan and is really cool. Her channel is HIROKOCHANNEL. ☆〜(ゝ。∂)

  • That's a hardcore wave you do at the beginning

  • KAAAAAAAAAAA MUTHHAAA FACKKIINGGG WAIIIIIIIII

    Just sayin'

Loved the video Really helpful :D

  • Haha I used to hear kawai all the time, but was completely confused. I thought they were referring to an anime, or a character. Now I get it XD

  • Is there a such thing as "kawaii desu" or "kawaii desu ne"? If so then what would they mean?

  • @iamnotokay24 I'm not sure about "kawaii desu", but I believe "kawaii desu ne" means "cute, isn't it?".

  • @iamnotokay24 I think kawaii desu is to describe somebody or something... I belive it's "Anata wa kawaii desu", but I'm not sure it should mean "you are cute" ... but I'm not a hundred percent sure^^

  • um if i try to learn with a rosetta stone will it work?

  • I'm not sure how to spell it, but I've heard something like "uso daro!".

does it mean the same thing as "uso"? and would it be used by a specific kind of person who would use it (eg man, woman, young, old etc) and also in what kind of situation (with firends, family, in a formal situation)?

  • @DarkWitchArizona Yes, "uso daro" is one way to say "you're kidding!", but it's rather rough/informal way to say it mostly used by men. They would probably only use this with their friends.

  • u forgot about kuso which means shit and oh shit or dammit, i confuse dat wit uso

  • i thought uso means liar or your lying

  • @RanDomKisses2 Literally yes, that's what it means :)

  • You know USO means Brothers in Samoan

  • @rings16 I know right -__- which is why i tend to use "ka kkoi" (cool) or "ii [desu] ne" (that's nice) instead of kawai :)

  • @xSRGDarknessx well if you watch so much anime, how did you not know "sugoi" you hear it in anime all the time ... though sometimes it's said more like "sugeeee~" which is mainly said by males or the more tomboyish females.

  • USO DA!! That's not kawaii. It's a white board!! The only one I didn't know was sugoi, yes I watch a lot of anime.

  • I never knew that the word uso can be used like that, thank. And by the way you are really kawai!

    ... That's spelled correctly, right?

  • isn' it kawaii with two 'i's?

  • @NYAPPYunbelievable there are two ways to write out long songs. you can double it like "ii" or wite is as she did with the "i--' its all the same thing.

  • @Otaku4lyfe89 okay, thanks ;3

  • What happened to Hiroko-sensei? is their any more videos by her?

  • whats the difference between kanji, hiragana and katakana?!?

    please answer! for the videos,

    DOUMO GOZAIMASU!

  • @strylultra Kanji are often used for (in)tangible things, taken over from Chinese. Katakana for loan-words BUT also sometimes for animals and plants that have kanji but are annoying to write; compare 薔薇 or バラ. In this case, using katakana makes it stand out in the text. hiragana is for all the other things. It is used for indicating the end of verbs, particles, etc etc.Too bad she did not said すごい can also be negative. And すごい can also be turned to すごく to strengten verbs and adjectives すごく面白いね

  • I love that song at the end. <3

  • this really helped, thanks :)

  • i can understand a lot of japanese words but im having a hard time reading and learning japanese dialogue.

  • うそ!かわい!すごい!\(^o^)/ lol

  • arigatou gozaimasu! ^.^ <3

  • I knew these :D

  • Isn't 'Ka-wa-i' the translation for something scary and 'Ka-wa-i-i' the translation for something that's cute? I'm pretty sure I heard that these two pronunciations can mean two comptlely different feelings.
