God Buddy ha the best tone EVER! He invented a lot of effects for Steel playing but also knew how to play without any of that! I have to watch this at least 2 times a day!!!!!!!
Years ago a Peavy rep was in a music store I worked at and was telling about being at a show with Buddy. He told us they were in the bar and Buddy said without the derby most people wouldn't know him. So John puts Buddy's derby on and in a little while people come in and walk up and start taking pics, getting autographs, and handshakes while Buddy is about to fall off the bar stool laughing. Emmons was always full of this kind of stuff!
I just reread the comments and I have a comment about a year too late.I did see and hear buddy miss once at the 1977 convention in st. louis and that was to his own intro to "four wheel drive".He laughed harder than anyone.that's one of the things I really liked about him personally. He can laugh at his own mistakes.

Buddy Emmons is the same to the pedal steel guitar, as Chet Atkins was to the guitar!
Buddy Emmons is at the top, we argue as to who is number two.
All my heros are not dead, I still have Buddy Emmons. Buddy gave me one of his broken strings in Charlotte, NC, in 1978. I still have it stapled to the underside of my steel seat. I touch it when I need some help with a tune. Thanks, Bill
There's only one Buddy Emmons!!!!! Thank God, he graced us with his incredible talent. This guy had great tone, when other players, didn't even know what great tone was, including me. Marc Trainor. He's the greatest!!!!
You are welcome that I have been able to post these videos. Buddy is gracious in letting me release some of the video I have taken over the years. MORE to come.
He is the greatest in the world. No doubt about it. Thankyou, Buddy for doing all these shows where we dovetees could hear you doing your thing. Marc Trainor.
There just is no better than Buddy Emmons, even though there's some great other players, he's the man. Thanks, Buddy for doing these gigs, where we can hear you play. Marc Trainor.
Thank God somebody posted this stuff, or we might not be able to hear our hero. I remember hearing him at the Dallas Steel Guitar Convetion, and falling on my knees at his ability. Glad we can hear this stuff, from the "king" of the steel guitar. Marc Trainor.
You know as great as Buddy is, listen to the rest of band. They're really tight, and the guitar player is especiall colorful on this one. He's really a terriffic country guitar player. Marc.
