  • God Buddy ha the best tone EVER! He invented a lot of effects for Steel playing but also knew how to play without any of that! I have to watch this at least 2 times a day!!!!!!!

  • Years ago a Peavy rep was in a music store I worked at and was telling about being at a show with Buddy. He told us they were in the bar and Buddy said without the derby most people wouldn't know him. So John puts Buddy's derby on and in a little while people come in and walk up and start taking pics, getting autographs, and handshakes while Buddy is about to fall off the bar stool laughing. Emmons was always full of this kind of stuff!

  • Yes Buddy did record Touch My Heart way back. I don't know what album.

Buddy is retired and still living in Nashville.

    Bill

  • 2:36-2:40 you think oh god he's going to miss his chance but DAMN he nails it!!!!!

  • I too first saw Buddy in Dallas at the TSGA Jamboree in about 1990. Hands down, the BEST stell olayer ..ever.

    Dave McIntosh

  • I just reread the comments and I have a comment about a year too late.I did see and hear buddy miss once at the 1977 convention in st. louis and that was to his own intro to "four wheel drive".He laughed harder than anyone.that's one of the things I really liked about him personally. He can laugh at his own mistakes.

  • HELL Im not sure whos first the late John H or Emmons. There both tops.

  • Sa-moooth! 1:18 just kills me!

  • Buddy Emmons;class.

Buddy Emmons is the same to the pedal steel guitar, as Chet Atkins was to the guitar!

Buddy Emmons is at the top, we argue as to who is number two.

All my heros are not dead, I still have Buddy Emmons. Buddy gave me one of his broken strings in Charlotte, NC, in 1978. I still have it stapled to the underside of my steel seat. I touch it when I need some help with a tune. Thanks, Bill

  • smooth as butter....never misses anything!!!

  • There's only one Buddy Emmons!!!!! Thank God, he graced us with his incredible talent. This guy had great tone, when other players, didn't even know what great tone was, including me. Marc Trainor. He's the greatest!!!!
