I needed to ask that how do you define your controlling parameters.

What methods or techniques you employed to set dimensions of the engine. The stroke length, swept volume, dead volume and regenerator voulme etc.

I would request you kindly suggest a reference book or something that might be useful in our quest of dimensioning a stirling engine.

Great project :) I have question about the Fresnel lens.How do you calculate the temperature achieved by your Fresnel lens? And is it a spot or linear lens that you are using? Thanks!

Temperature is hard to calculate, you calculate the solar power (W) per area focused quite easily. When i purchased the lens the spec sheet stated 500-600C, as you heard from the testing i reached spot temperature up to 1000C, of course depending on the heated surface the metal temperature will vary greatly. id recommend getting the largest you can afford so your not disappointed :-) and test to find what temperatures. I used a spot lens, linear may prove better if heating a cylinder.
