We - in Germany - are currently working on a radio program about us trans people for an independent non-commercial local station to tell people how it is to be trans and how it feels to be put into a fucking wrong box of prejudices. We are not freaks...

Media uses peoples life stories to make money. They don`t give a shit about feelings or justice or compassion. The more the story is shocking the more they like to use a story to milk it for all they can get from it. How does that song go/ Oh! yeah! (We need Dirty landry). Lady V you don`t rant. Outstanding video. I know it was directed to trans people but what you have to say applies to everyone that has been marked as different. (Try explaining pansexualism.) We are all communicating a message to others about ourselves.One to one and one to many is bottom line media. Sometimes it is hard to be calm and rational when someone that has no idea what they are talking insists on telling you how it is. Be passionate but be respectful. They might just hear you. My Mum hates Otto Dix, Groz, Cubism, Expressionism,etc

In the 30s Hitller organised 2 art exhibitions next to each other, art of the future(nice art) and another called degenarate art(featuring Dix &Co) .He let the people make up their own minds,The art that was full of warnings and feelings was dismissed as moaning unproductive but today fills the modern galleries,My Mum hates Hitler but loves his art,we cannot afford to be degenarate in the present climate. thank you for your work , Peace

I have always hated the stereotype that we were all prostitutes, drag queens, and flamboyant gay men. Oftentimes I would tell people I was trans, shocking them, just so that I could explain to them what we really are, and what we are NOT. I spoke at a college once, and would sooo do that again. And, I had 1 radio interview. I am always on the look out for opportunities like that so that I can reach as many paople as possible. Letting them know what being TS is really all about.

It's always saddened me that media would prefer to capitalize on drama and suspense rather than the honest truth about any subject matter. Same way that most people think that all lesbians are diesel dykes and that all people who gay are flamers. Those stereotypes are so hard to break. Yes, let's lead our own lives...all of us.
