@josueuscocovichgarcs No its an 800 series because of different engine sounds. That's just a 737-800 without winglets . that made you confused to make you think its a boeing 737-300/500?
people the winglets are there for airlines to choose. the models that do have it are called "er" which stands for extended range, its all a game of cost vs benefits, adding the winglets adds a extra 600 pounds or so, and airplanes only see the benefits when flying two or more hours otherwise its better to get them without it
@djfelon4life the winglets are actually an option a popular option but an option an Airline can make to include them or not when they purchase the 737's and 738's
@Angjelo98 Believe me, every Greek i know are the biggest back stabbers. They cheat on tax, they lie to your face, and try to marry into a Greek family if your not Greek, your an outcast. I challenge anybody to this.
Can't believe how few video's are posted with a spooling up and full throttle of the 737, that's one of the greatest sounds ever, how fast they spool up and how fast the throttle goes all the way.
@randomlarrynator yea that's because the 737's are lower to the ground than most jets so the engines had to be built with a flat underside so that the engines wouldnt scrape the ground and also, so that there would be less chance of the engine sucking up debris from the runway
@seaboo143 I know that, i meant like, it's not boeings choice, it just depends whichever the airline orders. So that figure could change at any given moment.
@slaneyboi yes. but what he is saying is that this is not a 737-800 because it has no winglets so i commented that not all 737-800 have winglets. only 40% of the total population of 738 have winglets.
Some Delta 737-800's don't have winglets, so you still do see some wingletless Boeing 738's. In fact, I flew on a 738 with no winglets from Cincinatti - San Francisco. You do see them though. I see a lot of them when I go to airports.
lol this airlines blowed all thrust because carribean airlines takeoff at that acoutsic energy grind uget is not that powerful only at full power lol dma that beast
I still remember first time I flew in a 737 and was stuck on me was how those powerful engines come in handy on short runways, it almost feel like you are in drag race.
Not all 737-800s have winglets, a couple years ago when me, my dad, and my friend went to san francisco, we flew on an -800 with no winglets and in my opinion, i like them without the winglets better because they get in your way when you wanna see
There are pros and con for winglets, they improve fuel efficiency about 5% by reducing wingtip vortices but that is if the plane is nearly full, it's break even with an empty plane. There is a possibility of a flutter problem using winglets, that's a kind of an oscillation and the variables vary to much to really design it out. Good chance more efficient designs will obsolete the classic winglet. Also tip loading is generally a bad idea and some people worry if fatigue will be a problem.
Yeah, I like when I see differnet airlines in Europe that I normally don't see here in the U.S. But sometimes when I am in Miami, I notice a lot of airlines from other countries. Expecially winglet aircraft. Yeah, winglets give me the impression that those 737s and 757s are considered "Heavies". I know they are not as big as 777s, 767s or 747.... But a little nice impression is cool.....
I was on a 737-900 XLA from Manchester to Lanzarote-Arrecife last year, and they forgot to slowly power up the engines on takeoff. It was really unexpected and people weren't happy. I prefer them with the winglets me, I don't know why though.
737's are powered by a pair of CFM56-7B engines Made by CFM International, a 50/50 Joint project with GE Avation, and Smecma, a French Company. The CFM56 Engines also power several Airbus A320's and A340's Nice Sounding Engines foe Sure
yea, the slow power up, is for passenger comfort, rather than just slamming on the "gas" they slowly increase power, so people like I mentioned are more comfortable.
α jet's former airline was Helios airways, which changed its name, because they had a pretty bad accident back in 2004 or 2005 I think. They crashed because the first officer forgot to turn on the cabin presurisition. :/
Worst company in Europe!I'm glad they ceased operations! Now their former Chief Pilot is being trialed and most likely he will go to jail along with the other company officials or pay a very big fine

not all 800s have winglets. The most identifiable difference between a 737 classic and NG would be it's wingspan and its inner flap pylons.

@TheMemphisSlim So? An 800 can also have NO winglets. It, like all other aircraft, doesn't have to have winglets.
