I think Shane will have trouble against Pacman, Pac is a south paw with an incredible speed, foot work and wierd angle punches. Wright beated Shane, Wright is a south paw, simple fighter with an average speed. Really worried about Shane on May.
@march91992 yeah a lot of that is true. But Wright was BIGGER than Mosley and had a hell of a jab. Manny is smaller and does not have a jab as far as I can tell. Don't get me wrong. I still think Manny will beat Shane either by late TKO or UD but it won't be because he took a page out of Wright's playbook. Manny will use his footwork to win this fight. The only way I see Mosley winning is if he pulls something off in the first 4 rnds or if he has some master strategy to KO Pac.
Mosley is the most overrated from his generation but in his prime he was still better than Mayweather or Pacquiao. But prime Trinidad would beat Mosley and if Oscar arguably beat him both times, plus, Mosley was on steroids. I even think a prime Vargas could beat Mosley.

But Trinidad is a much better puncher and has alot of heart, both have great stamina. The fight should've happened. mosley has had trouble with 154 pound fighters like Winky and Forrest. Tito fought great at 154. Same with prime Vargas, he beat a few guys at 154 that Mosley couldn't as well. And the first Vargas vs Mosley fight was very competitive.

Mayweather has simply been cowardly these past 5 years. I think Shane will have trouble against Pacman, Pac is a south paw with an incredible speed, foot work and wierd angle punches. Wright beated Shane, Wright is a south paw, simple fighter with an average speed. Really worried about Shane on May.

@march91992 yeah a lot of that is true. But Wright was BIGGER than Mosley and had a hell of a jab. Manny is smaller and does not have a jab as far as I can tell. Don't get me wrong. I still think Manny will beat Shane either by late TKO or UD but it won't be because he took a page out of Wright's playbook. Manny will use his footwork to win this fight. The only way I see Mosley winning is if he pulls something off in the first 4 rnds or if he has some master strategy to KO Pac.

Mosley is the most overrated from his generation but in his prime he was still better than Mayweather or Pacquiao. But prime Trinidad would beat Mosley and if Oscar arguably beat him both times, plus, Mosley was on steroids. I even think a prime Vargas could beat Mosley.

@Transformers217 I think it could really go either way. Mosley's biggest advantage is that he has a hell of a chin. But Trinidad is a much better puncher and has alot of heart, both have great stamina. The fight should've happened. mosley has had trouble with 154 pound fighters like Winky and Forrest. Tito fought great at 154. Same with prime Vargas, he beat a few guys at 154 that Mosley couldn't as well. And the first Vargas vs Mosley fight was very competitive.

@b0x1n9f4n Mosly knocked out Vargas in the rematch. And Trinidad didn't have a lot of boxing skills. He was a very one-dimensional fighter, with a very poor defense.
Shane Mosley would either knock out Trinidad, or win a decision.

After freezing up against Mayweather and being unable to finish him in the second round...Mosley would NEVER be able to handle the speed and accuracy of Pac-man.

@hannibalsreign you gotta give shane a break though..he was supposed to fight andre berto january 2010..but berto pulled out because some of his family members died in the earthquake that hit haiti..so that means he was in training camp for like what 2 months..and then go back again and do it for the mayweather fight 3 months later..so in my opinion i think he was overtrained..plus he's old..i wouldn't count shane out..not saying he gonna win but anything can happen.

Mosley stopped Vargas on injuries (badly swollen eye) in about the 10th round in their first and stopped him in the 6th in their rematch.
The last second KO was against Mayorga in 2008.

Floyd dodged a lot of fights, he's not dodging this one, so he's probably confident he's gonna win, as a matter of fact i think Mayweather is gonna look great, and won't have a scratch after this fight!
On a side note, I love mosley but he is getting kinda old...and is probably not the fighter he used to be. Or maybe is like hopkins and wine, getting better with age!

@Zaquille Hey mate. Define "defense". there are three kinds of defense in boxing. First, hands position. second, head movement and third, foot work. I give most to foot work. You see manny training with freddie. After every combo, he steps to the side. stepping to the side is like walking into opponent's blind spot that they cannot see. Cotto admitted that by saying "punches from many angles". I think manny vs floyd would be one mega fight. Manny being extremely aggressive and floyd defensive

The footwork you are describing is more about opening offensive opportunities than defending.
Blocking is the most effective type of defense, based on only effectiveness in stopping punches from landing.
Head movement and footwork are more risky and difficult but rewarding because they open up counter punching opportunities

Mayweather has simply been cowardly these past 5 years. It's great that he's fighting Mosley, but he had the chance to cement his legacy by beating the best Welterweights around in Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Williams, or going up and taking on the Winky Wrights of this world. Instead, he fought none of them, and has constantly had to defend his choice of opponents. Which he does poorly, as he often resorts to "legacy don't pay bills" which implies that he's gone for easier fights that pay well.

@fazeloc206 Come on, you should know better then that. De La Hoya was in his Prime and still a fighter when he fought Shane. He was a business man when he fought Mayweather. Not to say Mayweather doesn't beat De La Hoya in his prime or that Oscar wasn't look to beat Floyd, because he was, but that was his 4th fight in 3 years. He was long out of the game at that point.

Mayweather has one of the best talents in boxing, but he disrespects the sport.

Mosley is amazing but he is more of a head hunter now! he doesn't box like he use too and Floyd will expose that... Mosley has more power but Floyd knows how to neutralize his opponents power shots easily and Floyd is really accurate too... Floyd isn't a knockout artist but with the skill he possesses who would care because he's one of the best boxer's ever with superior skill,,, I give Mosley his props too but he will be defeated and there shouldn't be any surprise :P
