For a very convincing wormhole look, I use a very fine drill bit, 3/32 or less in about a 3" group at varying angles when using glaze. Insects do not always bore in a straight line. I apply glazing after staining & sanding the sealer, prior to applying topcoat. I saved a piece of wood that had been attacked by carpenter ants as a guide. Also keep in mind where heavier wear may occur such as corners near the door knob. It doesn't look natural to have excessive wear away from a high traffic area.
CAN YOU HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! ive built a nice pine table and my plans are to distress it, the thing is when im watching this video it seems like that piece of wood being used already has a finish on it.So when you wipe stain on it glides over the surface and then wipes off really easily and evenly. My table however is just naked wood and im worried if i just wipe heavy stain all over it,it might soak in alot more and just make the wood look rubbish,is that likely?will this staining technique work
I've glanced around the web alot for just the right instructions and this is the BEST!!!! Thanks so much and I even "get" the editing humor! Thanks again!
Wow, that editing was kind of obnoxious, but the tips were great! The wood turned out beautifully. I've always been nervous to do glazing, but it didn't look so bad here. Thanks!
You can begin finishing the door with your desired coating, lacquer varnish, polyurathane, ect. Allow drying time after applying glaze. read manufacturer requirments for drying. sometime it an hour, sometines four hours ,and some are over night drying before coating with clear coat. Doc Dan

Horrible video effects and music. Almost couldn't make it through what would otherwise be a great vid.

Would be so much better without the effects....began to get very annoying. Just wanted to learn how to without the extras.

this music drowns out the talking and the constant word breaks are really distracting and tacky! shame because its actually really interesting.

This video was awesome, but I agree, the music at one point almost drowned out the instructions.
Really great tips though. Love how it was nice and concise. Thanks a lot! :)

Ok, I'm feeling guilty about my editing comment. It's just hard to hear over the speaking over the music. But really nice job on the wood! :)
