  • This is one of the deepest, most emotional songs I have ever known, considering the guitarisy was told to imagine his Mum had just died.

  • John Frusciante's Before the Beginning is a tribute to this song, I love the man for showing me all this great music and how to turn an instrument into your voice.

  • I can't stop listening to it. it's something more than magic .

  • Long live uploading this kind of MUSIC, I mean WOW.

It has been awhile since I heard this one, but still stands strong, and such RAW power.

Just breathtaking and pure enjoyment of sounds.

  • Stop reading the comments.. close your eyes and slow down, let the music be your entertainment not what someone else said. STOP READING THIS!

  • I'm the tail end of the hippies . I remember friends and my one cousin sitting around drinking and smoking weed (a teeny tiny bit for me) . Some music from back then different and sometimes strange places . Ahh those were the days .

  • @fabianstraregy At about the same time, and at probably about the same longhair age, In another part of America, I too was sitting around, doing as you did...invited over to someone's house with a McIntosh amp system and 4 "The Tannoy" speakers, naturally turned up to appropriate volume.

I was just a whole lot more than impressed. Wow!

  • @ThatMiserableCat Hey miserable cat thanks for your resopons ."Give me five cause we're on the same frequency . I Don't remember the McIntosh "component system" (that takes you back) but I had a Pioneer system and oh , do you remember TEAC . Also I'll bet you liked liked Frank Zappas' "Nanuck of The North" . Don't you eat that yellow snow is the one that liked . It's you tube check it out .

  • Love this? Try Buckethead, especially the song 'Too Many Humans'..

Pls Thumbs up to share this with the musicloving world!

    Thnx & Love

  • 13 people have no soul

  • On all of the greatest songs ever made, there is always 5 or 6 people fighting in the comments. This music wasn't made for us to fight over, it was made so we can listen together and come together.

  • Everytime I hear the treble range come in, with that delay. I think of it as an awakening.

  • For being high quality the volume is low as fuck

  • one of the greatest everrrr

  • OMG ......... you dont know how bad i've been looking for this song!!!!! This is my outlet! I love it to death! My grandfather listens to this kind of stuff. • R.I.P Eddie Hazel!

  • Безумно прекрасно... Очень проникновенно...

Просто бесподобно, как можно заставить гитару плакать.

  • @gjs4786 So because I don't see the point of something I'm tasteless? Ah. Well the internet drags in SERIOUSLY important people. I didn't realize the ambassador of Music and Taste had a YouTube page o.o I see the value on zealots and people that point out the obvious. You can write yourself a letter ^_^

  • I dont know who writes the worst comments, funkadelic fans or pink floyd fans, you guys are trying pretty hard though.

  • my father died today back home while I was oversea studying in America. I haven't seen him in 4 years. I was on the phone the night before and he told me to come back since I graduated from college but I told him I will come back after I secure a job. Today, my mom called and she said 'Dad is gone' then cried the whole time. Its been one day and she could not talk still. This song is the song of my heart right now.

    RIP beloved Dad.

  • @sukmalalat Sad, sad story. Keep your head up high though; you were only doing your duty.

  • @sukmalalat What are the chances that the exact same thing happened to 17 other people.

    Amazing. The exact same thing.

    yours truly

    Cynical cunt

  • @curlymolly70 Cynical Cunt? What kind of name is that?

  • @zeppelin1996 My parents just took one look at me and came up with it.

  • @nathanojo ..... what about peter green dude

  • Timeless

  • Mesmerizing.

  • That's sad, 10 people was crying so much they missed the Like button

  • @thepommedepin42 FUCK! shut up! why bother writing that? do you think people will think your funny, cause your the 1 millionth person to write that comment

  • mother earth is pregnant for the third time for yall have knocked her up i have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe, i was not offended for i knew i had to rise above it all or drown in my own shit.......

  • 10 people didn't rise above it all and drowned in their own shit.

  • i feel redemption!

  • This is a very powerful work of art . No need for drugs to feel the song. I listen to it daily and it makes me enter a profound state of melancholy.

  • I seem to always miss something with this song o.o I don't hear it. Whatever "it" is =S It might be the fact that I'm never high, but I just don't get what makes it so great in the eyes of the ppl that have told me about it xD

  • @friendly406 My best guess is you are deaf.

  • @MrFluffay No, I agree with him. I think the song is pretty unique but I've also yet to "decipher" exactly what makes it special. Frankly people who love the song but don't know how to actually explain exactly why they like it are no different. Not everyone in the world can enjoy every proclaimed masterpiece, and assuming that someone who doesn't share your own incredible taste in music to be "deaf" is archetypal ignorance.

I liked the song, I should listen to it more and see if it clicks.

  • @JBT24 It´s because people say it´s a masterpiece, and it is, but only when you don´t think of it as one, if they tell you and stuff you expect something, you just gotta listen to this without paying attention in a casual way, midsong you´ll go "Holy shit, this is a masterpiece"

  • @MrFluffay Maybe. But that argument can be said about a lot of songs and yet though, that doesn't automatically disown people's own expectations or ideas of what a masterpiece is. Different people want different things out of music, and the term "masterpiece" is just as subjective as good or bad.

  • @JBT24 Yes, but unless you find this type of music bad, you´ll most likely love this piece.

  • @MrFluffay That's like saying any metal fan will probably love the song Crimson or Blackwater Park

  • @MrFluffay You are an idiot >_> I just don't get it. Like you don't get my comment.

  • @friendly406 because your never high? really? Its not about being baked, its appreciation towards a talented musician. If you can't hear the value of this piece, then I feel immensely sorry for you. Im sure you feel like Linkin Park is superior to anything in the world. One day you may get lucky and maturate into a more aware sense of what makes a track special.

  • @am7cxr So BECAUSE I can't "hear the value of this piece", I automatically like Linkin Park? o.o Man... To think that conclusions exited before the internet xD

  • @friendly406 No, I came to the conclusion that you like Linkin Park because you have Linkin Park listed in the "Music" section of your profile. Ignorant little clit.

  • @am7cxr Well seeing how this profile is like 5 years old, and not originally mine, I think you are the ignorant clit. Lol.

  • @friendly406- That doesn't make me ignorant, it means I've been misinformed. Now besides the fact that you fail to recognize natural human talent (and then feel as if it's your place to talk down towards it,) you're bad at arguing, you say "like", you copy my insults, and you misrepresent yourself on public profiles. Your name is a contradiction as "friendly" is nothing similar to "bullshit".

  • @am7cxr Cry me a river and see if I care. Your ad hominem lost my amusement a while back, and I'm bored of this tirade of yours. So if you have something else to say take it to my page, leave me a message or something, and let it fester in its own lack of importance. You seem to enjoy this senseless back and forth more than I do. Truth be told, it doesn't matter, none of it does. I am unfazed and full of ennui...This whole thing is so four weeks ago. Have a great life stranger.

  • @friendly406

I like the way you decided to spruce up your last paragraph with some new vocabulary.

  • @friendly406 Not sure if you're trying to seem smart with your word choice, but you just sound like a complete dumbass

  • @am7cxr Win some, lose some. Life huh? Lol.

  • 10 people who disliked this are not entitled to their own opinion anymore

  • i heard it from wonerland

  • anybody can tell me why are a infected mushrooms song in the right sugerences??? i like it but omfg please!!!! this is maybe one of the best songs all arround the world, come on!!!!!!!!

  • just amazing...cant stop listening this

  • So yeah, I heard that George Clinton told Eddie Hazel (The guitarist) to play the first half of the piece as if he had just found out that his mother was dead, and the second half as if he found out she was alive again.

  • @Megatrousers true

  • Great

  • That is what happens when you successfully record feelings.

  • @Firecracker68 Comment of the year..easily

  • It's what they say... Music can describe what words can't...

  • I heard it in a Dr House episode. That's a masterpiece

  • @someonebigman which one? :)

  • And you obviously like thinking about gay sh*t.....which is why you responded......toolbox.

  • TREMENDO!!!!!!

  • It's the really best peace of guitar music that have played ever been since, nothing ever touched me so deeply.

God spoke through Eddie Hazel on the day, that this recording was made. Amen!

  • GOD BLESS EDDIE HAZEL MAN...RIP

  • This song sends shivers down my spine. just feel the blues

  • This song makes my d*ck hard......but not in a gay way.....not that there is anything wrong with that ha.

  • @icu812yum I bet it's in a gay way. You want some dude to put it in your butt when this song comes on.

  • Eddie Hazel > Jimi Hendrix? Eh, no. But it's close.

  • Thanks exist music!!

  • HOLY CRAP: LIKE

  • 'Apparently when they were recording it, George Clinton told the guitarist (Eddie Hazel) to imagine that his mother had just died before he started to play.'

  • amazing delay and reverb

  • 6 people need to just go sit in a ditch and think about what song they just disliked

  • I love how every comment on this is about how amazing the song is, not comparing it to others, not saying some silly comment.

I'm so glad that some people know how to listen to fantastic music

  • This is the most emotional song I've ever heard, and it's instrumental. It doesn't need lyrics to pull your heart out.

  • screeeeaam guitar screeeeeeaaam!!!!!

  • This is the very definition of doing so much with so little. This cuts right into one's soul...it's music that taps into another dimension.

  • This is my shit
