my mistake, i didnt know you were talking about the marines. and he was in the seabees. he signed up for the 2 years and a few months after he came home they sent him to Iraq for 9 months.

In the early days of the war US troops discovered caches of chemical munitions with traces of sarin. Also, Saddam had around 6 months to move his rebuilt WMD stocks to Syria while our people were trying to cut through the UN redtape guarding Saddam and his murderous, tyranical regime. Actually there were no al Qaeda-Saddam ties when we invaded but were soon in coming--he was already a conduit of money for Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, and the like. Hope to be a Recon Marine like my uncle.

Honestly I believe that when we drew up the plans for invasion, Saddam had started rebuilding his WMD but got rid of them by the time we were finally able to invade. Hans Blix (the head UN inspection guy) was corrupt.

He also wasn't attempting to purchase yellow cake uranium. The aluminum tubes weren't for purification centrifuges. The supposed meeting with ATTA was discredited. There was no operational link with al qaeda before the invasion.

Saddam openly said that he had WMDs before we invaded Iraq. after we captured him we found that he said that cause he was trying 2 intimidate Iran. hindsight is 20/20. its easy 4 u to say he didnt have WMDs now that we havent found any, but given the intel we had at the time, there was credible evidence that Saddam posessed WMDs. its also possible that he simply destroyed them in the middle of the desert before we got there.
