@Haroasiankitty im glad you respect it but what part of wushu gives you the idea it was FOR fighting? i enjoy practicing wushu and my coach made it very clear he wasnt going to teach us how to fight.. i practice taekwondo and wrestle for my highschool too, believe me.. My Wushu Coach never has a problem with me going and learning other martial arts.. He even encourages me to and allows me to spar him to test what i learned! i always lost.. be it striking or grappling.. 10 is a little to much 4 u

This is a branch of sanda. If they were doing traditional then there would be a lot more of what people call "dirty" fighting. That's the reason traditional wushu is not a sport.

good point if this was real fighting they could first gauge eyes, or dislocate/break the joints :) if you study even the softest style applications it is very mean/practical you remember that back then people where trying to kill you so its better to harm them quickly... Bad sportsmanship :)

@Jaygenius I can see where you are coming from, but This doesn't really look like sanda either, pay real close attention to the foot work and how they, as well as their hand positioning. This has got to be a Pa Kua match of some kind. either way, nice fight.

in Chinese language, kungfu means the level of wushu or martial arts.

to protect players, all competitions of wushu include this one in china prohibit hit opponent's head and balls, dangerous hand style is also prohibited, such as mantis fist, eagle fist blabla...

and they also wear bodyguard under their clothes, if u watch enough this kind of competitions.

So, it's hard to become bloody.

wush shu is a more specialized somewhat simpler version of kung fu. but awesome none the less!!!! u need to have a good understanding of basic kung fu to practise wu shu

Have you heard of Kyokushin Matches?

Where the opponents wear no gloves, any strike is allowed apart from Punches and Elbows to the heads...

These matches end in alot of KOs because of ever damaged Ribs, or Head kicks...

Some Kyokushin strikers are very powerful... Not in every martial art the target is the head...

A good strike in boxing can KO an opponent just as much as hitting their head too....
