Ron Paul says that when government grows it grows at the -expense- of individual liberty.
What he is not saying is that the federal government often -protects- the individual from the intrusions on their liberty by the state government or by corporations or by their own fellow citizens.
We need government as a restraint on corporate power.
If a state government were violating your rights and the federal government came in and defended your rights, would you be happy about it or unhappy?
Let's all agree that government should do what governments should do and corporations should do what corporations should do.
Anyone who has faith that corporations will always do the right thing in every situation and would never harm anyone is nuts.
Antone that trusts a large national government is nuts. If I don't like the way a state is run I can leave the state. If the federal government does something I don't like....? What do I do? The national government is as likely or even more likely to violate my right than a state government.
Its also disappointing to me to see someone in their 50s trust the government so much. It means to me that you are either in a white tower or shielded from the rest of the world.

What type of idiot would think that the national government is any better than state government? Or even any better than a corporation?

Who trusts the government?
There is a balance of powers between the three branches. That didn't mean that the Founding Fathers trusted all future presidents, did it?
And who's in their fifties?
