the creators are too stupid... npc's move faster than d hero and u never have a chance of using potion... this game is too dragging - tantamount to boredom... all in all plain boring

I was just tryin to beat this guy and all he did was shout "archers!" and "trebuchet's" which then proceeded to rain hell fire down on me... but it doesn't seem anyone else has that issue, so I'll give it another shot, should be easy by the sounds of these comments.... I want that armor!

Also... are you still wearing the Kayran Armor at this point... that's weak dude! (or hopefully I'm just thinking that's the Kayran Armor)

@TheMistyBlueLounge I was having the same issue. This usually starts immediately and takes down about 3/4 of my health and then he finish me off by running forward and striking. Probably has to do with the distance. The worst thing though is that the game doesn't autosave before the fight, so you'll have to go through the easy (but repetitive and boring) fights as the dead soldier.

He is too easy even on hard difficulty. My fight with him was like 30 seconds... (I've played a mage witcher) Just let him stay and strike him in his back, and he will die quickly. Btw the armor that you can craft from his components is the best looking armor in the game imo :)

This gotta be one of the most frightening bosses of all times.

I was trying really hard to beat him on normal when I read somewhere to use Yrden. After that it became ridiculously easy. Yrden stunned him enough for me to hack half his HP down. Same with the dragon, I was always burned and half my life was lost due to the fire damage. After putting every fire resist runes in my gear it became too easy.

Nonetheless, it's a pretty good game.

I had to bump the difficulty down for this fight.

I would have persevered if it wasnt for the god damned non existant save point right before the battle. It got simply too annoying to keep fighting my way to him just to die in 15 seconds again.

I love hard fights, but they really need to give us an immediate save point right before them.

there is simple way to defeat Vandergrift - you must catch him into Yrden, and attack him by the sword - you'll hit him, but not his armor ;D

when i realized just how open the battle field was i decided to use the yrden thing since i upgraded it. When i used the 3 yrden chain thing and he got caught in it, he lost half of his health. Did the 3 yrden chain twice and he died. Could probably do it without even getting hit to. It was normal mode though so might take more yrden chains for higher difficulties

(thumb this up to help guys out) If anyone is having trouble with this one do this:

Get some distance, but not too much or he'll call arrow/trabuchet. If done right he'll charge at you. Generally he will keep going till he hits a wall of some sort. Quickly dodge to his back and just keep hitting him with heavy attacks (right mouse). You can get 5-10 slashes before he turns. Do this and you can beat him without taking any damage or breaking his shield.

When you defeat the kayran in the first chapter they give you a crafting formula for creating armor with it 15 rough clothes, 7 hardened leathers and the kayran skin if I remember correctly. If you stick 3 of the diamond armor enhancements on it you can use that armor the entire game with no problem.
