  • Nothin But SOUL, which has no color!!! She LIVES 4-EVER!

  • Check out sonyalynne's video of Teena Marie performing Ooo La La La at B B King's restaurant in NYC from 2008...she has quite a few videos of Ma Tee, it's the one with the time of 3:01....believe me it's worth the search to hear Ma Tee sing this song in a slow version and then hit those high notes with that amazing voice...She is missed something fierce....

  • She looked so tuff in this performance with her tiny self. Young and so famous - go girl! Everything was right.....WORK IT! SANG Lil Bit! THAT I HAVE TO PINCH MYSELF TO BE SURE, THAT THIS LOVE IS MORE THAN I CAN ENDURE.

  • Ooh la la la, it's the way that you feel when you know it's real!

  • SOOUUUULLLLLLLL TRAIN

  • Timeless Teena!!! I am so honored to have seen her in concert the year before she left with grace...great performance, hats off to you. Thank you Sincerely for all the great songs, truly a gift. OOH LA LA LA...my favorite for always.

  • Well I am just sorry I did not pay attention to this great singer until after she died. I remember her first hit Lover Girl than lost track of her. She's was just wonderful!!!

  • Man I have loved this woman since the day I laid my eyes on her. She is truly the queen of soul in my opinion. Now I know my opinion doesn't count but hey, its all I live by. R.I.P. Teena. I love you baby.

  • BRING BACK BIG HAIR!!!

  • LOL.......if you think Teena Marie's ensemble reminded you of the group "oreo's" from a star is born.

  • WORD!? .........I didn't know teena did choreography, wow! Hot!

  • I miss Teena, but watching clips of her performance just puts a big smile on my face! Her music just soothes the soul.

  • R.i.P LaDY_T GoD_BLeSS_HeR & ThaT VOiCE?

  • I LOVE HER SHES AMAZING

  • I had the pleasure of seeing Teena Marie live back in 1997 at the House of Blues in Hollywood on the sunset strip and let me tell you that she brought the house down! I have seen well over 100 different artists in concert and Lady T in a intimate setting like the House of blues was by far one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. Rick James had just gotten out of jail and made a surprise, unannounced appearance to sing fire and desire with her. God Bless you Lady T

  • This song help put The Fugees on the map. So thank you Teena for that too.

  • I'm 16 why can't music now be like this ??

  • @Orangesocksburst I'm a Black man, why can't I find a White woman like this.

  • @u2hubbard Because they're all fake and wanna be, but this woman was real as you and me and you're never here of a white lady quit like this. I'm Black too it's hard to find white people to understand.

  • @Orangesocksburst Hey Hey Hey, Chill out about the WHITE. I am a 44 heading for 45 and know everything about Teena. I was 12 when Wild and Peaceful came out and met her 3 times up close and personal. I sang fire and disire with her in Boston. Not the whole song but it was a dream come true. I get upset when people say white people don't really know of her. This white guy sure in hell does. From Behind the groove until her last song Can't last a day. RIP Lady T this white boy luvs U!

  • I LOVEEEEE THIS SONGGG!!! RIP TEENA MARIE!

  • Teena Marie was the white Ivory Queen Of Soul. Areetha adored Teena big time. Not one white female singer sounds like Teena til this day. I sure in hell miss Lady T and it's sad we will never hear new material from this soulful classy lady. Thanks for all the great music Teena. Gone too soon! You had so much talent RIP!!

  • @Teenasboy50 I certainly agree with you, and in NO way am I comparing the two, but, you have to admit, Christina Aguilera's got an amazing voice. Obviously Teena is more musicaly talented than Christina, but Christina's has an Amaaaaazing voice!

  • Three people missed the "Like' button and hit "Dislike" by accident! lol! ;)

  • Man, she knew how to hold those notes...high ones at that! RIP Teena Marie. You are definitely missed, under-valued, and under-appreciated. God rest your soul...

  • Rip ms Lady T ur music is very aspiring lauryn hill did a good remake of the chorus

  • MAN I LOVE TEENA MARIE. NO OTHER WOMAN HAS SANG LIKE HER THAT I CAN THINK OF. When I listen to good music like this it just makes me so f'ing upset at these new artists. How did they get deals? They can't hold a note, write music nor look "classy". They are garbage compared to the music of the '80's. Teena Marie you are missed already and always will be.

  • This is my favorite song by Lady T. Brings back good memories. Miss You Ms. Teena.

  • IS EVERYONE NOT WATCHING IT THE WAY I AM??

Everyone knows Soul train has all they're musical guests lip sing!!

But of course MS QUEEN OF IVORY SOUL her self had to show everyone what she truely was?!?! THE REAL DEAL!! @ 4:37 she sang that note live over the track thats why everyone was all hype!!

    R.I.P/GOD-BLESS LADY T.......

  • @ELLIS02112005 I had no idea she was singing that note LIVE - get 'em, Tee!

  • I think everybody lip synced back then. But she had proven time and again that she had the chops. That is why she is a legendary R&B Diva!

  • I think everybody lip synced back then. But she had proven time and again that she had the chops. That is why she is a legend R&B Diva!

  • I saw this Soul Train in the 80's and wondered what will become of this lady with real Passion, Voice, and Moxy! (also on MTV) She wrote lyrics-a total talent. Could not believe the news on 12/26/10 that she just passed, at just 54. Time goes too fast. An inspiration.

  • singer, songwriter, arranger, composer, played at least 5 instruments well and probably a total of 7!!!!!!!! Forget about it!!!!!! The real deal............

  • I Miss Lady T !!! Thank you for your post!

  • Fuck Auto Tune! Lets get back to real singing and real talented muscician who actually play the instrument and not the "play" button!

  • BOY I'M GOING TO REALLY MISS TINA MARIE SHE WAS A PHENONMINAL SINGER AND SHE SEEMED LIKE SUCH A SWEET PERSON!

  • LET ME HEAR YOU SAY YEAH!! :D Love you always Lady T :)

  • gets me every time

  • When I heard this as a teenager back in the 80's, it blew me and I didn't stop listening to this great singer.

  • The undisputed IVORY Queen of Soul !!!!!! :)

I remember this Soul Train. She also did "Work It" later in the show.

  • @TheCandyapplebum "Fool" so now your name calling? Well seeing that you and Miss Franklin are so close, both of ya'll can kiss my ass. These video's are of Miss Marie, so why your punk ass here telling people that really love Teena Marie that she not the Queen. Take your sensitive ass to Miss Franklin's videos by yourself an worship her by youself. Don't care what you've read an say is official or unofficial, but you can officially kiss my ass!!!

  • @LbfamMRi95 Hey, He is right Areetha is the Queen of soul. Teena was know as Lady T and the IVORY queen of soul. Areetha adored Teena Marie big time. Areeth asked Teena personally to sing at her tribute. Teena sang Do right woman do right man. I'm just glad that god gave us both of these awesome ladies. Glad that Areetha is well and so sad that Teena has left us... So chill and enjoy what these ladies gave us....

  • Every not pitch perfect.......... RIP TM.....Could you imagine a sing off between her & Karen Carpenter....Few singers can out do the music she was one of them..

  • THIS WAS ONE OF MY SWEET SONGS SOUL TRAIN

  • Is she latino or just white?

  • @StarBrown08 just white is not that bad, especially in her case...

  • TOO BAD SHE NEVER SANG FOR THE LORD,WHAT A WASTE OF TALENT :(

  • @MrArpas12345 ,she sang as a result of the Lord's grace and blessing.

  • @MrArpas12345 ,she sang as a result of the Lord's grace and blessing. Never wasted her talent.

  • @MrArpas12345 actually she makes reference to God in quite a few of her songs. And if you search "Teena Marie His Eye on the sparrow" its a clip of her singing an old Gospel song for some BET function. Teena had a special relationship with God, one that only He and she know.

  • @MrArpas12345

    She did

  • @MrArpas12345

She did, and now she is.

  • @MrArpas12345

She did and now she is.

  • amazing performance and song!

  • Cant beleive she is gone Love you TM !!

  • What is it about her here that reminds me of Boy George of the Culture Club in the 1980's? Especially when she first prances up the the mic and starts singing?

  • Sooooo precious and humble and powerful all at the same time!!! Oh! I wanted to see you in a concert Lady T...I still cry because I know your gone...I hope to see you in heaven with Jesus...I grew up watching Soul Train with Don Cornelius every Sat. morning while doing my chores!!! You look so precious here and of course beautiful...your passion for music is what makes a "musician" different than just an entertainer,,,

For you it wasn't all about the almighty BUCK

God Bless you "Psalmist" is wh

  • R.I.P Lady T.

  • Ooo la la la Lady Tee i'm gonna miss you:(

  • She kinda looks like that big red monster from the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is wandering around the haunted castle. Google "big red monster bugs bunny" to see what I mean. Same hairdo.

  • You are Soul. ooo la la.

  • @k3304 man shut up and have some respect.

  • You gone to be missed i love you ooh la la la r.i.p.

  • we say the dumbess things, Teena its AWEFULLY nice to see you again? Tell me whats so aweful about being nice?? :D But notice, he was well awhere of what he was trying not to say because of the way he tried holding it back.

  • sweet song bird when she hit the last part of this song my whole body shiver!!R.I.P lady t.

  • sweet song bird.

  • it's hard to put into words what Teena Marie's music does when you listen to it. she had a style that was truly unique and a voice that was unmatched. teena, your music will live on as will your memory. you've touched so many lives with your soulful melodies. there will never be another you!!!

  • Look at her, all tiny waisted in that stylin' gown! Such a soulful lady, too. Wish she was still alive.

  • I LOVE TEENA MARIE SHE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED!

  • I won't miss her music as it will always be here. But I will miss the music that died with Teena.

Rest in peace lady soul...rest in peace...

  • @sing1967 I know how you feel. She had mentioned in one of her blogs that she was going to be recording with Chaka Kahn and Aretha Franklin. Sadly, we may not get to hear those recordings.

  • Beautiful lady RIP sweetheart

  • BEAUTIFUL...SO Good too. I will SO miss her music.

  • Anybody know how to get this in HD?

  • I respect her because of her way of thinking and that she made it to get a contract with motown ages ago, but to be honest, her music is nothing special for me. I heard her name the first time, when she passed away. 30, Berlin. RIP

  • RIP dear Teena, I danced to your music in the streets and in the clubs of New York City during my youth. When I joined the US Navy in 1980, you were still rocking my soul on cassettes in Beirut Lebanon, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Central America, and all over Europe. I have CD's I burned for my rides that your music is still on today! I love you, thanks for rockin my soul. Thanks for changing the world.

  • @k3304

haven't you got anything better to do??

  • @k3304 If you didn't enjoy her music, you should still have some respect for someone who has passed.

  • @k3304 YOUR AN ASSHOLE...YOU CAN KICK ROCKS AND WALK UNTIL YOUR ANKLES BLEED YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD! UGH! BETTER YET GO DRINK SOME AMMONIA BLEACH COCKTAILS AND GO PLAY IN SOME TRAFFIC! CANT STAND DISRESPECTFUL PUNKS LIKE YOU CAUSING DRAMA FOR NO REASON!

  • @1Decisive , alot of people gave me a thumbs down= WTF !!

  • @k3304 Obviously you grew up in a negative self absorbed family. I feel sorry for you. Your parents did a dishoner in raising you to judge a book by its cover. Too bad you couldn't experience the joy of her music. Shame on you and your parents.

  • I love this song. I read somewhere that Teena performed this one live on "Soul Train" instead of lip-synching; good on her!! With a voice like that, live is how it should be!! That said, RIP to Teena Marie, one of my favorite singers ever. She never got the recognition she deserved for her monumental talent.

  • like i said if aretha is the queen -then TINA DAMN SURE IS THE PRINCESS- live wit it

  • Now that was one heck of a show! Lady T you will be sorely missed.

  • This is making me cry beyond words. This woman was a pioneer. She blurred the color barriers, with pure talent class, intelligent, grace, humbleness which in my opinion all of those for a woman rolled into one is pure sexiness. She was sexy w/o even trying. Her love songs were pure poetry. These "girls" should seriously pay homage to a real woman who they know is was and always will be someone to look up to.

  • Yep this was pure music. No booty shaking, looking like a hoe and no auto tune.

  • @citizenlen I think it's lip synched tho

  • Music never sounded so PURE.

  • @rayva1: Le' me hear ya say YEAH!

  • Has she ever got a Soul Train award? Because how the hell Eminem got one? Damn! smh

  • As good as it gets, right there!

  • I'm 23 and I've loved her music ever since my mom introduced me to it. She told me that she used to dance to "Lovergirl" at the club. lol. Awww man, her and I both were devastated to learn about her passing. It's so sad how all these REAL singers are passing away sooner than later. All we're gonna have left are the memories...these artists now don't even come close to these amazing singers such as Lady T...I'm still in disbelief and saddened that I will never get to see her in sing in person...

  • RIP. Blue Eyed Soul Sista

  • Wonderful voice !!! WOw im still in shock

  • Feel good music!

  • Teena Marie. You are Soul Beautiful. Your songs shaped my heart and touched my life. Your my ooh la la la

  • RIP Lady T your music will forever live in my heart ....

  • Gonna miss u Lady T..u make me smile

  • RIP Teena. Your voice is like none before you and none that will come after you. Just a beautiful voice. You'll be missed by many!

  • Teena Marie was one of the fewest white singers to go into R & B. Not that many can do what she's has done. It's a shame that we lost her. This is one of my favorite Teena Marie songs ever. She was awesome. That voice was sick. She makes these singers that r now in the business to shame. RIP Teena!!!There will never be another singer like u was. Now u r in heaven with another icon n that would be ur friend Rick James.

  • I have to pinch myself to be sure youre really gone! smfh the good die so young first micheal now u :(... You definitely will be missed r.i.p

  • RIP Lady T, you were definitely a sista! :)

  • r.i.p. the queen of soul

  • @var723 thats aretha

  • The gift of music is soulful in itself; some just deliver it more soulfully and eloquently than others. Teena Marie boldly gave her gift, and it is a joy to have been a witness to it.

  • @MrRickster46 woww...u got issues...:(

  • THIS IS ANOTHER HIT!! I LOVE THIS SONG! OH LA LA LA!! (SMILE) IM FEELING THE LYRICS THIS SONG! R.I.P TEENA MARIE!

  • ooo la la la....

  • I bout this on import from Bluebird records and everyone was blown away with it when I first played it to them! RIP LADY T

  • SHE WAS INDEED A ( STAR CHILD ) AND IM SURE SHE IS SINGING WITH RICK, MARVIN, AND THE REST OF THE GANG... 1 LOVE ALWAYS LADY T...

  • This was my joint, RIP Queen Of Soul!!!

  • @LbfamMRi95 The Queen of SOUL IS ARETHA. STOP IT YALL. We can praise Teena Marie...but don't get it twisted here.Shit's disrespectful. anyway...RIP Lady T.

  • @TheCandyapplebum whats disrespectful is when another person tries to dictate what there opinion is better than your opinion, first off Aretha was not my cup of tea and most of the songs she made I liked was when she was in a group with her sister(not solo) . If you like Elvis and I like little Richie and say he was the king of rock, don't judge. I you like Eminem and I like Jay-Z as the king of rap, don't judge. If you like Aretha and I like Teena & Patti as Queens of R&B, don't judge!!!

  • @LbfamMRi95 Im not judging, fool. Aretha is the QUEEN OF SOUL..that is HER designated title...just like Michael Jackson is the KING OF POP. They've both been officially crowned with those unofficial titles...by the music industry, the media and the fans. You can't rewrite history. This isn't about me downing YOUR OPINION. I'm correcting you and everyone out here trying to give Aretha's title to Teena Marie. that's not how it works.

  • @LbfamMRi95 Also there is no "King of Rap"...the closest we've come to assigning that title is "King of New York" or "King of the South" and those titles have been heavily disputed not just by fans but by the music industry AND the media. With Aretha, she is indisputably the "QUEEN OF SOUL" just as MJ is indisputably the "KING OF POP." Meaning there is no ARGUMENT or OPINION. Type in "Who is the Queen of Soul?" on google search and see what you come up with. sheesh.

  • Lady T was a smooth singer + RIP
