Cette version, que je ne connaissais pas, me parait être la meilleure, plus spontanée et tellement émouvante. On a "les cheveux qui se dressent sur la tête"
On y voit l'ébauche du stop chorus en 2'10, qui sera bien plus net par la suite
I had the privilage of seeing and meeting George at The Astoria in london back in the '50's he was accompanied by Ken colyer The best concert I have ever attended! George was such a modest man AVALON HEAVEN VALHALLA to hear just a few bars.....
I recorded this movie in the early fifties and lost the film! I see someone has found a copy and uploaded it -- thank you, thank you, thank you! My worship to my beloved New Orleans... Fred Hatfield.
The "with Monette Moore" is my favourite recording of Burgundy Street. Would love to see it on youtube, too. This recording is so good, too. Love the images used. Thanks for posting it.
One little tiny beef - the youtube video ends before the final two notes are played. I'd rather have a bit of silence at the end of the video than have the last bit of the music missing.
This has to be the very best recording of Burgundy street I listen to some version practically every day (as i am an amature clarinet player) and EVERY time it makes the hairs tingle on the back of my neck. I have the fabulouis version with Monette Moore on vinyl which i would like to see posted if thts is possible many thanks for posting
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing. Like my brother's comment, this was played at our grandfather's funeral. Thanks for sharing this video. Papa passed a year ago today; I think he would've loved the images you used in the video. Thanks!
There's footage of Buster Holmes' legendary Restaurant and Bar, corner of Orleans & Burgundy, in this film. "Buster's" was mentioned as "Slow Drag's hangout" in the superb Monette Moore & Lewis band 1953 version of Burgundy St. Blues.
I love this musik

Absolutely beautiful! Ever read Tom Sancton's, "Song for My Fathers?" It's all about Preservation Hall and all those great jazz pioneers.
