I think Lorna has the better technical voice.. which is awesome, don't get me wrong, but doesn't have quite the "wow" or "star" factor of Judy or Liza. It's not something you can gain by study or anything. I think it is incredible that Judy's talent got passed down to both daughters in some way or another.

O please,Judy was not the best judge of her children talents-she was sure that Joey was smartest boy on earth...Her relationship with her oldest daughter was so complicated and feeling of guilt was so huge that she rarely talked about Liza at all.Sadly,Judy's name is the only praise Lorna can hide behind because the rest of the world had made it's choice about who is better performer Liza or Lorna.And no Lorna's fans (all 5 of them) who dutifully patrolling every site in internet can change it.

@firefliesuk liza (who sadly has no voice anymore; despite what her die-hard fans may say) had a sound of her own, and a stage presence that was nearly as captivating as that of her mother... lorna just doesn't have that little something that makes a star... she's the pinnacle of mediocrity... and can't convey emotion with the fiery, passionate intensity like that of judy or liza... and her vocals sound like an amateur impersonation of her mother... like a karaoke bar cover of her mom's music...

Perhaps you have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about. As far as being a sound alike to Judy, I am thrilled that Lorna is not that. Nor is her other daughter Liza. They both have their own unique style and sound. A karaoke bar cover? Unreal. You should be ashamed to say such a thing. I am still waiting for your latest CD!

@DeanGalen like her version of charles aznavour's "comme ils disent" she sang for "liza's at the palace"... beyond that, i am not a fan of lorna luft's style, her cadence, or her histrionics... it just doesn't work for me... i am not a professional musician, but on that level i do not market myself as such.. but frankly, if i did i would be open to criticism... i think lorna luft has a very unpolished style... which is fine for some music but i don't think it works for the songs she sings...

@sonia175 im not really a fanof niether of them but some how was looking into liza because shes coming to san antonio to perform and ihonestly in an outsiders opinion thin lorna looks better and sounds better and just saw an interview where lorna said she was scared to be around peple and crowds and while its fun she didnt want that lifestyle ofr her and her family so im assuming if she had wanted to be a star she would have been just as good or better. she was great in Grease 2.

When it comes to singing, I personally disagree that Minnelli is better. It really depends on your knowledge of singing-which I'm sure you don't posses, as well as what you particularly like better in a voice.

Having a large range doesn't make you a better singer than someone with a smaller range.
