  • Your baby is so cute and I think god bless you.

  • This is amazing... I love this a lot !

  • Oh my goodness. Thank you for sharing your story- absolutely beautiful. I'm so impressed by your decision and I hope that your beautiful child grows up to be a beautiful person!

I've been interested in peoples' stories of adoption ever since I read "Children of the Manse" by Lewis Luchs. It's a story of abused children who are adopted, which is obviously different than your case, but it's a beautiful story nonetheless.

  • Sorry if you already answered but may I ask why you chose adoption versus keeping the baby? I'm not judging I'm just wondering :)

  • Thank you for posting this, it's beautiful. I'm a birthmother myself, I placed a little over seven months ago. And while it's hard, I'm glad to see that someone else has done it too. Sometimes it's easy to forget we're not alone

  • I admire you

  • so beautiful! it's nice to see adoption stories, it inspires young adults or should inspire them to make the choice of adoption

  • i was adopted and my story is depressing and its long and sad to handle

  • So glad you chose life for your baby! He is beautiful. Your love for him is heartwarming.

  • So beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this personal video. I have tears running down my cheeks. It looks like you'll be having an open relationship which is so wonderful. That's what we hope for. We're looking for our baby out there to adopt. Praying our angel will find us soon.

  • you did a good thing. u did what u thought would be better for your kid. good job

  • As the best friend of an adoptive mother (and father) I can tell you adoptive parents get SUCH a gift from adopting mothers! It has to be the toughest decision a woman can make but cling to knowing that child will be loved and worshiped. Our little angel, Noah, is adored by sooo many! His mother had to be a very special woman to think so selflessly as to give her baby a life filled with everything a child could want. Thank you so much for this story!

  • My husband and I are currently waiting for our birthmother to give birth to twin girls. The emotions involved in this process have been unlike anything I've ever experienced. We've been hoping and praying for 3 long years that our chance would come...now that it's this close, we are so scared that we will lose it. Thank you for sharing your story...my husband and I would never be able to be parents, were it not for selfless, amazing people like you. You allow dreams to come true....

  • @brn2tch76 are you parents yet?

  • Hi, I loved this video it is so beautiful and it made me cry. I work for an adoption agency and respect any woman who knows that adoption is best for her child and can make that decision. I know it is a hard one to make. I would love to share this video with our birth mothers and our adoptive families.

Thank you for posting this and God bless you.

  • @joct825 thank you!

yes please share it! i made it to help spread positive voice about adoption!

  • i'm a birth mom. and i'm 18. i put my daughter up for adoption just this past march, so she's about 7 months.

this video touched me more than words can describe. every picture reminded me of my adoption and hospital stay.

    thank you for posting.

    god bless you.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I too have an open adoption. My daughter was born August 09, 2010. I know she will have a beautiful life and I am very blessed that I will be apart of it.

  • i could never do it.

i would be depressed as hell.

  • @BabyGirlGoddess

no one is asking you to do it, thank goodness- there are enough 'depressed as hell' people walking among us!

it is indeed a choice that not all choose to make.

  • amazing video thanks for sharing it as a mum i think your a very brave women and u can see the love you have for your son and his new mum and dad

  • deshalan,

Thank you soooo much for your beautiful and UNSELFISH story. My husband and I have a 4 month old adopted son and he is our miracle. Thank God for birth mothers like you!

  • deshalan,

Thank you soooo much for your beatiful and UNSELFISH story. My husband and I have a 4 month old adopted son and he is our miracle. Thank God for birth mothers like you!

  • So glad you are involved in his life. I was adopted as well. Although I have a great family, I do think about my birthmother from time to time. My parents encourage me to write her, but instead I wrote a song to her as my letter to her.

  • Thank you for your courage for posting this, it must have been very hard for you to do this. I like the quote you made, I think it is a very mature decision to do this if there is no other way. To have the possibility to take part of your son´s life is truly a gift and very important if you are really able to see him on a regular basis

  • Great video! It was a truly loving thing you did. Thank you for setting a positive example in this sometimes messed up world. GOD bless you!

  • I don't know whether you realised or not that you have broken your child's life. Majority of adopted children have psycological problem. Your child will be asking for the rest of his life : "Why my mother gave me up?" You will see that, and you will regret about your decision. The most imprortant thing that our children need is their mothers' LOVE. You couldn't buy this for any money in the world. Sorry, I don't understand you at all!

  • @smelaia2 omg! you are a horrible person! do you not realize how many "mothers" there are out there just because THEY Couldn't do it! they are the selfish ones! she did not ruin her childs life, she is keeping in contact which means he will know her, she gave him a life that HE deserved. He is going to have a wonderful and amazing life because he has a lot of people around him that love him. you shouldn't go judging, you dont realize how much WE birth mothers go through so shut your big mouth!!

  • i have a question. who is the singer of this song?

  • Comment removed

  • @smelaia2 giving up in life is indeed very sad. i didn't give him up or give him away, i gave him MORE. When you love someone that much, you will sacrifice anything so that they will have everything! one of my favorite quotes: "loving someone is wanting the best for them, whether that includes you or not." Thanks to open adoption i am included in his life, so everybody 'wins'!

  • what song is this? i put my baby up for adoption and this song is really good i'd love to have it. I have an open adoption and its amazing

  • @thebaum2011 the song is called: 'from gods arms to my arms to yours' by michael mclean

  • Thank you for posting this video!! As a birthmother to be it is really nice to see! Again thank you soo much I loved your video!!

  • i loved that song im an adopted an for many year i was soo mad at my brith mum but she gave me a family that could love me and take care of me it is real hard to get to the stage were you just forgive but once you do you will feel so much better

  • What a wonderful woman you are...You gave him life, you gave him the best you could without being selfish. I love the song, and it's very appropriate. Many blessing to you.

  • Hey Desh-- just saw this video for the first time...WOW that is about all I can say... yes I cried.. your amazing

  • Thank you, Desha, for posting this. Your story is so beautiful. In 1982, when I was pregnant with an unplanned pregnancy, I wanted to make the choice that you made. But I was not allowed to make that choice. Instead, I live with the regret of an unwanted abortion. God bless you for choosing life for your child. He will thank you some day for the sacrifice you made for him.

  • Wow. I was on the verge of tears through this whole video, singing waveringly along with the song, until I saw the picture of you crying as you gave your son a last hug and the tears finally spilled down my cheeks. What a beautiful story, and what a beautiful, wonderful, selfless thing you have done. I can see the parents knew what a sacrifice you made for them; the depth of their gratitude was written all over their faces. Thank you, thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

  • This is most unselfish thing u can ever do, I PLACED my son 4 years ago. It's open so he knows he calls me his birth mom.

  • This is BEAUTIFUL, i too cryed when i watched this. You gave this family the most precious gift in the world! a child.. The one gift no one could ever have blessed them with. Showing him this video when he's older will show him you loved him very much and you did what was best for him!

  • Beautiful video. I adopted an abandoned child. I am happy to see the birthmother who love the baby so much and has a heart big enough to allow him to be love by others too. God Bless You All

  • beautiful video made me cry

  • Beautiful video :) Very Beautiful...I love the easter egg basket with the ultrasound pics :) Very beautiful; God Bless!

  • I think this is a beautiful video. I know the adoptive parents and was a witness to their pain when they were going through the infertility/adoption process. There is nothing selfish about giving a baby up for adoption. Any mother who has had her newborn placed on her chest after birthing her knows the decision to have your baby adopted is completely selfless; because every bone in your body wants to hold that baby and never let go. Kudos to you. You couldn't have blessed a better couple.

  • i'm adopted by an loving family and i will always be thankful to my birth mother because if she did'nt give me up for adoption i probably died so i think adoption is a beautiful thing to do i can't wait till i can adopt a child with my husband

  • i am a mother of a beautiful 8 year old boy that was adopted by my exes sister. the disision to give him to her was the hardest desion of my life. i am bi- polar and have fetal alcohol syndrom and knew that i could give him all the live that he needs but could not give him the physical care that he needed. do not asume to gudge me i did what was best for him. he knows that i was sick and that he is loved by 2 moms

  • Everybody is talking about birthmother, what's about the baby ahd his feelings in this happy moment

  • i am awaiting to adopt a baby in July...I pray everyday that the mother will be able to go through with this. Theres no way for her to keep the baby. Thanks for sharing this video..i cried the whole time.

  • I don't get it.

Why did you give your baby up? He may never forgive you.

  • that ok sammicsno, my choice had nothing to do with people like yourself trying to 'get it.'

i didnt give my baby up. there is nothing to forgive, as that implies a wrong doing on someones part and/or remorse, neither of which is applicable in my adoption story.

  • my mum called me up yesterday and she told me a story about her friend carrying her grandbaby like just 2 days old and asking my mum to adopt the baby. She was hesitant and asked me if i cud adopt instead. I said no...even if my hubby and i are still striving hard to have a baby i still don't consider adopting one...now, after watching this, it made me think, if i adopted her, would it change my life forever? *sighs* im crying watching this...i just can't believe why it's hard for me to accept...

  • Birth mom, I respect you for what you did. I'll say a prayer for your peace & hope you find the comfort you need in the Lord.

    God bless you!

  • Thanks for this. As an adoptee this touches my heart . I wonder sometimes if it was hard for my birth mother.....I never got to talk to her about it. When i went searching for her, i found out she had passed away. I love the song, i have the CD to!

  • a birth mother never forgets, nor does she ever stop loving her child. im sure it was very hard for her, but she loved you enough to do what she thought was best for you, even if what was best didnt involve her.

  • wow ur strong!cuz i could never give my baby up ever

  • wow you are so brave and I look up to you so much. I gave my baby away 5 weeks ago so it is still very fresh in my mind. I know the hurt I feel right now will get better. Its thanks to people like you who help me know Im not alone.

  • Desha thanks for sharing this beautiful video with the world!

For those looking for Canadian adoptive parents for their baby, check out my channel and videos.

  • This was beautiful. You are an amzing woman.

  • wow!! SO TOUCHING!!! That song was AMAZING!!

  • wat is the name of this song...and who sings it??

  • Birthmom,

You are a strong, beautiful, selfless woman! On behalf of adoptive parents everywhere . . .thank you for giving your children life . . . TWICE!

I pray you find complete peace and comfort from the God who created life, Jesus Christ.

  • What an inspiring story and amazing song to pair. Thank you for sharing this. I was adopted and now we are adopting. You can see my video on my page. Many blessings.

  • i want to adopt when am older but am only 10.

  • I was adopted long ago. You are a great person to do that which you could to help your little one.

And eventually we are all sealed as one family, all as children of our Heavenly Father. So it all works out. :)

Great video... although I started crying at 34 seconds and couldn't watch any more.

    :D

Your love and bravery and courage overwhelmed me. So... good for you!

Thanks for setting a great example for so many people. All the best to you!

  • I'm a birth mom and have placed 2 yrs ago, I am glad to hear an adoptees opinion on this, thanks. It reassures I did the right thing and I hope "Bunny" will understand that...

  • You are great person acw...

Bunny will thank you and appreciate you eternally, for as said before, we are all one family, we are all His children.

Take care and all the best to you. Live to be the person that Bunny would appreciate.

Thank you for your great example!

  • Thanks Fluffythecat2 :)

I appreciate the encouraging words :)

Desha, I love watching this video over and over. My friend made me my adoption video. Its on a dvd but I want to try to convert it for youtube :)

  • @fluffythecat2 I loved watching this video AND reading your comment. It is great to hear and read of the happiness that comes from adoption from every angle. We have 5 adopted kids in our Forever Eternal Family.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! I am a fellow birthmom and think more people need to see the positive side of adoption! ((hug))

  • I can't imagine a more adoption situation; how brave for the birthmother to give him up; how brave of the adopting parents to allow her to love him, too, instead of being afraid she'd change her mind.

  • As an adoptive mother and on the receiving end of two beautiful adoptions, I know this was a hard decision and I pray that you feel some comfort in knowing that you have given the miracle of life to another family who could not be a family without your precious gift. Blessings.

  • THANK YOU! so much for posting this, there were so many video's i was watching about birthmom's who were so regretful about giving up their children, it was making me second guess my want to have children (by adopting) but after seeing this, i hope to find a wonderful woman like you to help me have a family one day!

  • Wow, I sat here bawling the whole time. My son was born May 20th, 2008 and I placed him too. I wish I had some of the pictures you have here--like last few moments with him and all. This is just so touching. Great way to share your story too! Honestly, thank you SO MUCH for posting this! <3

  • Thank you for sharing this video! It looks like LDSFS, and we are actively involved. We adopted our precious little one 14 months ago, and only wish we could tell her biological parents how much we love and pray for them each and every day! So...thank you! Your love is so apparent.

  • Your little "Pokepoke" is so adorable. God bless you both!

  • You are amazing. You will be blessed for choosing to do the right, but ever so hard, thing. This song really is a perfect song. Thank you for sharing your story. Know that people like you are prayed for constantly, because nothing is more unselfish than placing a child for adoption. I hope that your story can help a few people be able to make that decision.

  • Wow...Thank you so much for posting this. My husband and I adopted our daughter July 2007...And are in the process of trying to add to our family again. We want so much for our daughter to have someone to be best friends with. Thank you for your love.

  • You can be with God's help. I placed a child 24 years ago and God walked me through it. God is good and remember to praise Him even in the storm.

  • Desha-

This is Spencer. I was just thumbing through Sarahs videos and saw this. I being a man am still wiping tears away. Your are a courageous person Desha, I am glad that Sarah has such a good and close friend she can talk to about anything. We love u and I love u

  • I remember when Michael McClean sang this at a concert I went to, and my mom and I cried through it all because my sister had just given up her baby a few months before. I am so glad that my nephew is where he should be, and I know he will be blessed with his family.

  • How beautiful!

I am 47 years old and my birthmother left me at a hospital when Iw as born. I have never known or met her but applaud the love and courage it took for her to make a plan for me. I have only every known love and am now married with two children of my own (both of them adopted).

    Thank you for posting this.

  • How did you find this song to download?? I have looked everywhere. Thanks

  • This video makes me cry because although I know I'm giving my daughter the life she needs and deserves by placing her with her new family, I am really dreading the day I have to give birth to her and let her go...it's approaching faster than I'm ready to admit and I am very scared. Your video and story really touched me and you are such a strong person...thank you so much for sharing it.

  • This song always pricks my heart & brings tears streaming down my cheeks every time I listen to it. Thank you for sharing your story, in such a beautiful way. Much Love, DaughterofGod

  • I just want to say your story really inspires me... I'm still wiping tears away... I'm so scared to let my baby go... You are SOOOO Courageous and brave!

    Future birthmother

  • don't be scared! It will be ok!! By placing my baby for adoption I was able to give him everything that I couldn't.... for me there is no greater peace, joy, and satisfaction than knowing that!

    one of my favorites:

Courage is when you do what you have to do though people don't think you can. Courage is when you think you can't do something, but you do it. - Adam McCord

  • @deshalan I consider your comment an expression of true love, to really care for another so much, that there best interests come first. It is a good model for all relationships, IMHO.

  • Wow...what a generous and beautiful heart you have! As someone who loves Jo and others waiting to be parents...thanks so much and bless you.

  • Very well done video. Thanks for sharing your story in a way that helps others understand. And thanks for blessing this family!

  • This was such an amazing story we are in the process of adoption and this touched me so much! Thanks for sharing.

  • What an incredible amount of love you have shown this little man. He is truly blessed to have all of you loving him. You are such a strong women!!
