  • I really have to ask if you have some kind of problem, in your brain?

People going out and buying the bootleg DVDs is clearly hurting the industry.

If all people did was bootleg the movie, and not sell it, the industry wouldn't lose any money. But people like you, people who BUY those bootlegs; they are the ones who made the decision to cut the theaters out of the loop.

Also, it is completely a crime to purchase and posses bootleg DVDs, and your assuming that it isn't is frightening...

  • @JoeDeceiver ... The fact that you truly beilive that your purchasing and trafficking of illegal goods is somehow not complicit in the crime is terrifying. There would be no 'seller' without a 'buyer', and both are guilty.

  • YOU THINK A YEAR IN JAIL IS WORTH IT!?!?!? I stopped the video after I heard that. YOU go to jail then lets here you say it's worth a year. Even with people pirating videos, studios STILL make a killing because of people like my mom that enjoy the theater experience. Your opinion is your opinion on whether or not it's wrong but you're a NUT for thinking it's worth a year in jail. No offense. And if you been to jail and feel it's worth, that prison must have been FUUUUUUUUUN.

  • Fuck the feds. corrupt assholes

  • who give a fuck about subtitles just watch the fuckin movie

  • @SilenceOfChaos

What are you talking about? I am not defending this girl, and I did watch the video (a long time ago)

And just because a law is a law doesn't make it right.

  • @SilenceOfChaos

But if you made a copy of the Mona Lisa and I bought that instead, would it be a crime?

Then again, if you just gave me a free copy would I be a partner in crime?

    I don't think so.

  • A peso is a dime? Cool.

  • You/She goes on to say that it wouldn't be fair if there was a law against people BUYING the videos (notice how SHE bought some). Seems kind of selfish to me.

And about people losing jobs, stuff like that happens with the "evolution" of technology and our way of life.

Notice how over 90% of people used to be involved with farming a few hundred years ago, and now it's MUCH less, I'm gonna say less than 10%.

The job market is changing fast- pretty soon the only jobs will be robot maintenance.

  • $100 Million to make a successful movie and it returns $6 Billion after it goes all over the world and gets released online, on cable and satellite and finally video stores and red box. And factories are shutting down because they cant make any money?? Smells fishy to me. Im certain there is a hell of a lot more going on than bootleggers on the corner.

  • First of all lady no matter how much u want to look like a man, u r not a man so u r a gringa, not a gringo. Second, you've just put video evidence out to the entire world that you are in possession of property that you yourself claim is stolen. So you have contributed to your friend losing her job along with hundreds of other people. Possession of stolen property is a crime as well. Listen, if people, like you, didn't buy bootlegs, then people wouldn't make them. Supply and demand. it wont stop

  • No fbrad85 what your saying is hypocritical!

What your saying is whatever the people do is how the country was built!?!

Then add murder, rape, and slavery to your list too! Its all seems to be ok in your book. Or do you just think what you want to do is ok and everyone else if they don't like it can frack off huh???

  • The federal punishment IS bullshit, but that doesn't mean New York's ISN'T.

One year? A thousand bucks? Fair?

Do you know what prison is like? A year is an eternity when you're by yourself, exposed to diseases, violence & mental anguish.

For what? All for the sake of the "artist" getting millions of dollars, fame, & power regardless of piracy even if the movie sucks balls.

And if they had $1000 to throw away, they would buy the real deal. Sorry, but its called shrinkage.

  • I don't see how illegally downloading movies translates to your "job loss" theory.

Legal downloads and "on demand" viewings are several times more popular, therefore more harmful to the factory.

So actually HOLLYWOOD fucked those workers out of jobs.

Also, maybe I misinterpreted but the dvd's still have to be manufactured for those "old fashioned" pirates to record the movies onto, so... actually the "pirates" helped the factory out.

  • A fair punishment? You obviously don't know anything about this. Sigh.

  • girl come to my store, I gotta alot of those check out my page. but u probaly wont like it cause there is too much black hate and im gettin the white stuff in soon. also diff langages

  • They hav millions by ripping us off!!!!!!!!!!!Nice vid thought.

  • is pesos? mexican? cause in the philippines they used to say pesos...just wondering...-_-

  • are you a dyke? you look like a dyke

  • your an idiot

  • Your right! Thousands are getting hurt off all these scum that just steal other peoples Sh*t. They should raise the punishment.

Don't listen to these stealing losers that can't afford to pay for Sh*t so they have to be thieves without honor. All they do is cry like little babies because no one's giving them stuff for free. Grow up be a man and pay for your own sh*t and stop stealing other people's lively hoods that they work so hard at and support their own family.

  • @Prophit7 this country was built on piracy, capitalism and extortion.... so what your saying is very hypocritical... either play or get played

  • fuck you bitch , do you know how much money they get ? hollywood should sell one dvd for 2 $ not 25 $ , fuck movie industry ...they steal our money , too much money for movies that they are not even entertaining

  • @haohmaru12 Sometimes the industry fucks the artists over, or at least the music industry does.

  • That does not have any sence!!! If piracy is taking so much profit from publishers then why Brad Pitt still earns 100 million $ per movie? piracy is a natural process that makes equilibrium on their profit earning!!!

  • wow this chick doesnt make sense, she sits and talks about how pirateting is bad and that the fine and jail time is right, but yet she bought pirated movies? thats like someone saying that making coats out of animal fur is wrong, but yet they buy animal fur coats lol

  • dont be so fuckin nasty if you had ten pints n moved in 4 the kill she would probably turn u down and punch you in the face

  • you sound like an arse licker trying to get laid

  • you look ok - 10 pints and i would

  • ha ha ha ha ha..funniest comment i've ever seen on you tube..

  • Hollywood is ran by Jews, I say fuck em! Bring them motherfuckers down to the ground, all they do all day is "lets make more useless movies thats suppose to be real life." And then poisen peoples minds... blah blah.

They claim they loose out on money, what knob cakes! They generate the money for free from the federal reserve anyways, what are they complaining about?

I SAY... BUY ALL THE ILLIGAL DVDS (download them) AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! aXXo and FXG For the win!

  • ooh badass

  • One is a rip from a dvd and the other is original content. What's your point? In effect you support pirates. Its not fair yet you bought them? Interesting.

  • We already spend 1.7 billion dollars a year to keep pot smokers in prison. How much are we going to spend to prosecute illegal downloaders? I might go pay to see a movie in the theater if I didn't have to listen to blown speakers with my feet stuck to the floor while every asshole in earshot gives a running commentary with their demon spawn children crying throughout the whole god damned thing. You know what I'm talking about.

  • Pirating (i may have said it wrong) is not illegel unless you sell pirated software/things the victim is not commiting a crime unless they knew the stuff they bought was pirated.

  • do you really feel bad about artist?? are you serious, those guys in Hollywood are millionaires!! even the guys mopping the set live better and make way more money than the average income... My opinion is, piracy is a robin hood situation. Fuck Hollywood!! support piracy!!

  • You think every guy who makes music or movies is living in Beverly Hills? Think again. What about the hundreds of thousands of independent artists struggling to keep it together while working a day job?

Again, even speaking for the rich artists, it's THEIR work. Do you have a right to it just because you CAN get it for free? The ethical thing to do: Forget pirating and support the artists, successful or not.

And I assure you, the guys mopping the sets don't make hardly anything.

  • pay attention my dude, what u said its out of sense to me, just think of this, have u seen anybody piracing an struglin artist?

however, art is suppose to be a passion, something you do for love to what you do, those whos work get piraced have already enough money for the rest of their life, the art they do from that moment is just anbicious greediness from the non-artist executives of the industries,

    ...By the way, thats IMO

  • I do agree that there's a great amount of greed in the industry, but even being a fan of some very obscure music, I see my favorite artists being pirated all the time. It's just the lack of respect for the artist that really bothers me more than anything - not to say necessarily that you're one to lack that respect - just in the general public.

thanks for the civilized reply by the way, dude.

  • my name is sgt. free. could you come down to central lockup and bring those movies. plan on staying awhile

  • so what you're saying is that you're a hypocrite. It was fine when you were picking up your bootlegs in mexico but when your friend loses her job its all sad.

  • $1000 fine and a year in a year.... in MEXICAN jail, thats justice, lol

  • you sure that factory didn't close because of outsourcing? I'm just saying... that company would still make money, because DVDs still sell a lot despite pirating AND these companies also make blank DVDs who are purchased by DVD "pirates".

I don't think it'd be such a big deal if these companies weren't worth as much money as they are. They have a lot of weight to throw around in D.C. hence they "big" deal. I don't think it's right to steal from other people for your own wealth though.

  • good spanish

  • sooo its okay to see a movie for 9.50 and then buy it for 19.99 total rip off.well once you start paying for the tab well see if your tone changes

  • You people feel entitled to having an artist's music , or having an actor/director/writer's film whilst paying absolutely nil? If films or music aren't worth enough to you to pay for, you're not entitled to having access to them. This is an artist's work we're talking about, and all that money is distributed amongst a heck of a lot more people than you might think.

Don't you owe it to the maker to show them you appreciate what they're doing, and help them keep on doing it?

  • If that were true, there wouldn't be a pending lawsuit from all the artists against the RIAA. It seems the fatcats at the RIAA forgot to pay out any of the money they collected in their lawsuits to the artists that actually made the music. I know this is about the MPAA but the same business model is being used.

  • WHO CARES BITCH!!!

  • if you don't care why are you wasting your time watching this video and leaving stupid worthless comments

  • Why in the hell do people feel the need to post a video.... just to comment on another fucking video!!! Stop being losers, get the guys/gals phone number or email, and talk to the motherfucker!!!! DAMMIT... Go outside...

  • go kill yourself

  • IT'S SEXY PHIL YOU DEUCHE BAG!!!

  • they dothe same in puerto rico ... and its 100% the same as the origenal ... :)

and its only on $5 which is that soo cool .. cuz i'm not gonna put $40 on a movie that i can watch for $5 !

  • YES!

exactly, I agree. its all logistics!

    screw morality and ethics.

  • I'd agree with DJAnihlist. Either way, I'll end by saying who really cares about a bootlegged Spidey dvd....I'd be more concerned about the militarization of the police within your country.....

  • youre kinda cute wanna go out with me, we could hit some flea markets? iron man is out on dvd.

  • if u like females that look's guys

  • fastgt2003 she's cute, but the hair's a little short for me.

  • I don't get the ones of people recording them with a camera they suck.........but now most dvd's are relessed in a month before oh don't get the person who buy's that's like drugs don't get them get the dealer?LoL

  • Yes, because it's unenforcable. Laws have to be more than idealistic, they have to be practical. =]

  • What if movies were more affordable? What if the cost of a DVD wasn't outlandishly high? For someone who lives in a ghetto, sleeps in a tenement, and eats the lowest quality food society has to offer, is it not obvious that dishing out a SIGNIFICANT portion of their HARD-EARNED money to watch a movie or listen to a collection of songs is just not a possibility? Also, in these neighborhoods, is it not obvious that another problem is work availability?

  • Also, the industries aren't really hurting, they're just not meeting their expected goals. They're not struggling to fill their children's bellies with real food, or housing 15 of their family members in a two bedroom apartment, or living in a project building in Bed-Sty Brooklyn, the South Bronx, or Harlem. The real criminals are the ones who are making poor people spend their lives, literally and figuratively, working just to support gluttons.

  • Wouldn't it be great if movies were more affordable. And pirated movies are affordable. But, purchasing pirated material drives the cost of the authentic up. Its a priciple of economics. You sell a product, someone sells the pirated version so you sell fewer products. This increases cost of production so you increase the price.

  • The "economic principle" deflects from the bigger problem: the fact that these things have ALWAYS been too expensive for poorer people (i.e. the people who are usually bootlegging, pirating, or purchasing bootlegged materials). Poorer people, not stingy and sticky fingered people, face a REAL problem. In a word: Are they live a communally isolated and socially disconnected life, or sacrifice their basic necessities to buy stuff they don't really NEED? Are millionaires privy to this? Do they care

  • ur damn right man!

  • "...so, 1000 dollar fine and a year in jail really isn't much..." You just admitted to purchasing three pirated movies and agreed to your jail time.

    I don't get it...

  • No actually I didn't becasue I don't pirate and distribute DVDS. You don't get it because I was referring to a new law that makes PIRATING punishable by up to a $1000 fine and 1 year in jail. This is a maximum sentence. There is no law against buying pirated material. In the video I discouraged the use of a HYPOTHETICAL law making buying pirated material a crime.

  • Wait, I just checked and it's a $250,000 fine and 5 years prison time. See sidebar.

  • i think they should scrap the jail sentence for bootlegging and just increase the fine to a figure that a bootlegger would reeeally struggle to pay: like $5-10,000 because sometimes the people selling the fake DVDs are old and frail, and shouldn't really be doing time with felons who might be doing time for "assault and battery" or even murder...

  • But, there's already a federal law that makes it punishable up to a $10,000 fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to deter many people. I think that the purpose of this new law may be to quell a situation that lawmakers feel is getting out of control.

  • Really if you watch it's 250,000 On some movies plus 20yr's is what they say

  • Yeah, $250,000 is right! But, it's only 5 years prison. =]

  • 5yr's 20 yr's don't matter both is too damn long so I was wrong but I knew it's more then a yr plus even if they gave you a yr you could be out in 4month's or less

  • Wait, I just checked and it's a $250,000 fine and 5 years prison time. See sidebar.

  • so true

  • Peer Guardian for all you torrent downloaders. Blocks people from tracking your Ip, such as your ISP who will eventually send you a letter that will say something to the effect of your downloading illegal files... Dont hate me toxic

  • lol that only ban's them from connecting to ur puter not seeing ur IP address which they can still record

  • True true... wasnt thinking to hard when I posted. Thanks...

  • Inmate 1"What you in for?" Inmate 2"Pirating High School Musical.."Inmate 1"Well I'm in for raping pirates so..I guess your pretty much screwed."

    Great scenario...

  • I agree that there should be fine for those who bootleg movies, the jail sentence seems overkill. As to punishing those who buy the films I think that is not going to work. Not for the reasons she stated, since purchasing a movie that you know is bootleg is basically receiving stolen property.

  • I know. The original book is titled "The Painted Veil" but it doesn't have anything to do with the story. I thought the translation was wierd too, but "The Nightmare before Chirstmas" is "El Extraño Mundo de Jack" (The Strange World of Jack or Jack's Strange World). Sometimes things get lost in translation... =]

  • I agree the jail time's unrealistic. Should just be the fine because punishments you can't enforce don't really help.

  • Yes, I see your point. But, there's already a federal law that makes it punishable up to a $10,000 fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to deter many people. I think that the purpose of this new law may be to quell a situation that lawmakers feel is getting out of control. You are right though, that enforcement is key. =]

  • I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha i gave you that thumbs up buddy... you deserve it

  • you have a pretty voice

  • Wow, evidence much?

  • lol there is a store called bootlegger

  • Snore.

  • great video!! you made some really good points and opened my eyes to the business of pirating!

  • lol same here... it must pay off

  • If you think the $1000 fine and 1 year in jail is a fair punishment, why don't you turn yourself in?

  • That's true talking bad about it but im sure she would cry if she got a yr in Prison maybe not becuase she look's like a butch and could get some in there

  • quiero poner mi dedo en tu culo

    hahaha mentira

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • This girl is Lala land and she's not in touch with reality. I'd like her to spend 1 week in jail and I'll bet she would change her tune. Jail is for people that do real harm to other people. There should be a stiff fine for bootlegging not jail time.

  • lets c 100 of people lost there job doe 2 bootlegging, n it a 25,ooo doller fine n 5 years n jail n come on there making like 10 million dollers from 1 movie im keeping my 20 bucks

  • your a hippie.

    hippies suck.

  • you dont go to jail for buying um but you got to jail for selling if your going to buy a boot leged copy just download lol

  • I dont buy any dvd's or movies or cd's unless im giving them away as a present. Then ill go out and buy the real 1. Anyway I mean I jus watch the streams for movies, like I saw Ironman Sunday night on the computer for free with not bad too bad qualtiy. And its not illegal to watch the movies if they are posted on a site. only if u downloadthem.

  • Here's an oddity: Bootlegging "The Passion of Christ". I actually know someone who bought a copy.

  • OMG it's a federal crime that's why it's right? Is she serious Fuck getting a strike against you for selling bootleg shit wow ppl are better off selling drugs if that's the case. It's not illegal to buy only to sell

  • Try buying drugs from a fed and see what happens man!PS its not Entrapment either.

  • Well if you sell like small amounts of drugs wouldn't that be less time then bootlegging

  • That's why you don't just buy from random people

  • My bootlegs special features work. Buy some good movies next time

  • it's actually hard to find legit DVD's in mexico. I know.
