@thashacutiepie They have a sort of white wax in an organ in their heads, nobody is totally sure what they use it for, but it might be related to their sonar, anyway, whatever the whales themselves use it for, humans found it useful for medicines, cosmetics and in the making of fabric and so killed the whales for it. People who knew about and used the wax but hadn't seen the actual whales assumed it was literally their sperm and they've been stuck with the odd name ever since.

Yes, I'm confused too. I can't bring the word, "Sperm", into any place of either the Sperm Whales life, Appearance or etc. In Danish we prefer calling it a "Kaskelot", and it doesn't mean "Sperm". The word whereas to the word "clever". It's its Appearance. I think it looks quite cute to me. It has this characteristic facial, and the very thin mouth. I'm very fascinated about these animals. You wouldn't find any other sort of animal in this planet, beneath the oceans surfaces.

Sperm Whales are my favourite whales. Did you know that Orcas will not attack adult male bull sperm whales since they are strong enough to kill them and even an entire pod. Sperm Whales are such amazing animals.
