hahaha...this show was ridiculous with it's club-like vibe and dancing girls! I remember seeing this when it first aired though, and it was my first exposure to TOD. Their performance left an impression on me for sure, but I wouldn't fully realize how great the band is 'til recently since I'm slow.
Oh, and I saw TOD last night, and they blew me away. Better late than never! Their newer albums kick ass too. Thanks for posting this!
It's strange to think there was even a time when something like this could make it onto TV in the USA. There were a lot of out of control performances early in this decade from very out-of-place (at the time, at least) bands like TOD, and they were always lumped in the middle of some fucking Incubus or Korn type band. What a weird time to be alive.
I remember seeing this on tv -that one band from El Paso is on this show also. It's really wierd because a year earlier they played in my friend Casey's living room, and their groupies tried to charge us 5 bucks to get in, frak'n At the Drive Inn!
Like, are you a Satanist? Is that the meaning of "666"? I never met a for-real Satanist before. You sure sound mean. You truly are one badmother.
However, it doesn't seem to have occurred to any of you ToD defenders that my comment was ironic, and maybe meant to be enjoyed by the band itself. 'Cause, like, some of those guys are my pals, okay? Yep. I'm name-dropping. Then again, I'm not, and never pretended to be, a badmother -- especially of the self-appointed kind.
Hey, Battlesnake: for the benefit of maximum controversy, you might want to back me up here. Who drove all the way from LA to San Diego to see ToD in November 2001 and very nearly got bounced, along with Jason Reece's brother Cole, for getting too rowdy at the show? But maybe you don't remember that last bit.
Long live mayhem! My ass will never be in tune, and if it is, I'll take C#, like my guitar-hero Bryce Martin, even if he does play a Squier. Drunk, I now hit Post Comment.
