  • mine will get up to 124 in just 1/4 mile, what took you so long?

  • I have a 89 L98 with z52 package. Have only had it up to 135ish with plenty of rpm left to go. Can't wait to hit 150

  • I had my 84 at 150 then wussed out... and that's with crossfire injection

  • that car is ferocious

  • psh yall just need to grow some balls. ive been over 200mph on many occasions after filming this video and getting into sportbikes

  • Impressive... but NOT something to do at night. I'm all for exploring the limits, but. Your headlights give you a safe driving range up to about 60mph. Beyond that, you can't see what's out in front of you (and in your way). A chunk of truck tire carcass, debris, dog, etc. would put you 6 feet under. Not worth the risk at night, IMHO.

  • Whoever saying. "YOU WILL DIE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS" needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • that was fucking OUTSTANDING!!!!! WOOOHOOOO

  • Your video made me motion sick dude!!!

  • thats awesome!!

  • Old........... but still more kick ass than 99% of EVERYTHING made in the last decade.

  • You also have to consider something else if you just have to find out how fast your C4 will go... you're pushing a machine in which EVERY part is over a quarter of a century old. Unless you've been through it with a fine tooth comb, changed ball joints, tie rod ends, suspension bushings, etc, etc, I WOULDNT recommend a run like this. at 120 plus, ONE broken suspension part will end your life, PERIOD.

  • I agree with what you're sayin man. I'm even cautious with my 95 trans am. Just had the engine rebuilt, ballanced and blueprinted, and installed a mild cam, and have yet to take it past 100, seeing as the suspension components still have over 200.000 miles on them. I'd love to see 155 in it,but it ain't worth dyin for.

  • dude try it at 100 plus, seriously a kia spectra can go 100 miles an hour

  • @eLpeach But not as fun!!!

  • @eLpeach 1.8L? just fucking barely

  • Lol that's not going to happen. Not to say it can't break, but just because it's old don't mean it will. Before I did a engine swap in my '80 Camaro, I pushed that car beyond it's limits and it did just fine.

  • This could be a 1996 model with low miles. That would make it only 13 years old...and still very dangerous.

  • This corvette was a 92 through 96, you can tell by the fact that the speed is displayed above the fuel on the digital readout. Hardly a 25 year old vette, Save the warning for C3 owners, that vette was true muscle, C4's had the ability to take corners at a reasonable speed making them an actual sports car and are much better quality. C3s are still totaly badass though and I'm not knocking them at all.

  • ........ nah your theory sucks and is a fail. these people with these cars push speeds like this all the time, and going this fast is no big deal, when i rode 750 gixxers and 1000 gixxers when i was in the military we would be routinley at 160 plus to 180 on a weekley basis. of course we where in florida where the roads let us do it and the cops and few and non to be seen.

  • @agcatdriver it was a 95 with 50k miles and garage kept. southern car. no rust.

  • @agcatdriver but it would be a epic was to go out

  • I know my '87 will do 154mph, that's plenty fast enough for me.

  • it looks like there on a run way..

    pause it at 24

  • At 0:59 you can see they are on a highway and there are green road signs hanging overhead.

  • I love the 'hybrid' dash. One time a young kid was checking out my '96, then he turns to me and asks, "How come your speedometer only goes to 8?" lol.

  • I'm so glad somebody put this up, I got my 84 vette up to 155 with a passenger with me (my best friend who passed away a couple of years ago) and some people (magazine racers/mechanics) swear it will only run 140 mph. Some of us who have actually DRIVEN an 84 corvette can tell a different story. If they're running right, a crossfire is NOT a slow car, despite it's reputation.

  • I wasn't looking at this video very close, it's kind of hard to see it, but this car has a different dash in it than an 84. It's newer, but it doesn't matter.

  • Nice run but which engine did it have? I want to venture it had the L98 tuned port motor with an automatic as the speed to rpm's would be right. But that looks like a 94-96 dash cluster which means it would be an LT-1 engine and in that case even with the automatic a stock LT-1 will hit 165mph. I know, I've been there a long time ago when my LT-1 was still bone stock. Cool video though, I don't know if I'd be doing that at night vs. the day, what if a deer ran out in front of you? Ouch!!!

  • if a deer runs out in front of you at 155 mph in broad daylight, the only thing you can do is hope you're going to end up landing somewhere soft, like a huge completely random pit full of foam blocks and feather pillows, haha.

  • Or you can hope that the deer is big enough that you can slide underneath it. ha ha As far as your other comment about an 84 Vette hitting 150 plus, check out my video on here of my restored 84, like you said if the Cross Fire is clean and adjusted and running proper then the car will have no problem hitting that speed. It is when the engines are not running correctly like 95% of 84's left out there are. That is how they got such a bad rap. I can toast many new cars at the lights with my 84.

  • The only thing i'd hope for is to be dead, because after that, I wouldn't want to live... lol

  • that's funny i was thinking the same thing .........ODEER ..but i did want to see how fast it would go im not that brave but i had mine up to 130mph

  • Shit if you hit a deer going that fast the damn deer might just disintegrate as well as you. lol.

  • Amen.......

  • That dash goes back to 1990, so it could be an LT-1 or an L98.

  • I have the privledge of owning a 96 LT4 here in florida,..I had the car about a month and got it up to 173 MPH...although I am quite sure I, or my Vette will ever see that type of wind resistance again....02

  • mY dadys vet will goe 190 it is 1985

  • No it will not. But goo try

  • stock lt1 vette should hit 165 according to the magazines when it came out. and that is gear limited

  • man thats a cool video , what year c4 do you have?

  • "Red Line Limited" I believe the actual device is called a "Rev Limiter" and almost all cars have them they keep the vehicle from revving over a certain RPM in certain situations which also can limit top speed this isnt something they do by accident all the big auto companys have some sort of agreement about it didnt know the Corvette had one that kept it from hitting max speed but it may

  • ive gottin my uncle's ole 1991 Caprice Interceptor to 135. it had the LT-1 engine and still had some get up left at 135.

  • not bad for a C4

  • 150 to ja jade rowerem

  • one of corvette's advertisement during the 80's was "life begins at 150"

  • I've got an 85 auto, it's limited to 140mph, still had about 1/4 pedal left, like I said it's speed limited.

  • I didn't think these LT1's would get much over 160. I thought a LT4 in the 96's only might be able to crack 167-170mph.

  • ive got my car to 125, that was only in 4th gear

  • this c4 is sick, and i do mean slow sick.

  • 172 in my 96 Z51.

  • I think automatics may be limited, but my 1994 6 speed manual is able to get to 160 mph at about 5500 rpm in 5th gear before I chickend out. 6th gear by the way is a realy tall overdrive and won't climb any higher than the advertised 183 mph.

  • it had of needed a tune up! I've had mine to 187 with room to go and it was not slow getting there either like this video! stock gearing as well.

  • Nope...155 redline limited...the best was the last...silver collectors edition.

  • no man, they definently did not limit corvette to 155

  • I didnt say they limited it, I said it was redlined limited...means the engine could rev no higher, which is clearly visible in this video, you may get 160 on a good day.

  • If you know anything about the late model C4 corvette as in this video, the manual has six speeds, going at 5500 rpm (IF THAT IS WHERE IT IS) is in fifth gear when going 160, I can tell you that from experience, THEN when you shift into your cruise gear the car is no longer "Red Line limited" as you seem to expertly say, the car can handle rpm's up to 6200 if you knew anything about the C4 LT1 engine anyways. Don't make stuff up, it makes people look bad...

  • Gosh expertly..ok. Make stuff up? The video doesnt show it but I dont know what type of transmission it has, but as having owned an automatic version it is redline limited, tested myself thank you, so yeah i think i would know a thing or two, plus go check any automotive magazine archives and they all will say the same thing, it may handle 6200, but redline is 5500. Why bother someone on a comment so freakn old...go bother someone who truly knows nothing.

  • get a computer chip itll go to 62

  • I wouldnt even hold the car at those high revs for so long cause its making the engine weaker!!!!

  • i wouldnt owrry too much about that with a c-4..a zr-1 from the 90's still holds speed endurance records for holding somewhere 170+ for 12 and 24 hours

  • What year was the vette?

    lt1 or lt4

    standard or auto?

  • 95 convertible stock lt1 6 speed

  • its aerodynamically limited at 155 since its a convertible. also i was swerving through traffic on the interstate. i recently lowered it and i have a hardtop now so i might be able to get her to 180

  • @mongolian3034 lol lowered and a hard top wont give you an extra 25 mph top speed lol.

    l o fucking l.

  • i thought they were good for 175
