ok so i know how to do everything on this except for the air part i know you have to get a cylinder but do you hook that up to a switch or what? or in better words what triggers the air to get to the cylinder?
In the case of this prop I used a converted door closer, but a 3/4 " or 1" cylinder with a throw of 10" to 12" would work. of course it depends on how high you would like the four bar to lift and the weight of materials used. when working with the door closer I went as light weight as posble the prop and armature weigh less than 15 lb. if I had used a real cylinder I could have used heavy materials like steel squre tube. Also be sure you watch all my vids on this prop for what not to do as wel
@mortarlover123 It's been awhile but i beleave it was just over 2- 10 foot pecies of 3/4 and less than 10 foot of 1/2 but i recomend going to 1-1/4 inch and 1inch if you havent already watch all the videos on this and you will see why i say that.
sadly no I made this prop on the fly I just kind of made it up as I went. As far as the main armature its a four bar lifing set up google it and youll find all kinds of stuff. But as far as the arms movign up and down think of the arms as a crooked and bent extension of the uper bar in the four bar set up. they just move because the top bar moves I just used that motion to and extended down and forward on the top bare this made a nice set of arms that raise up as the prop raises.
thats sweet, now that i can weld i prefer steel work, but this is great handy work keep it up!
