I saw "Firefly" on tv back in the early 60's , i was 10 or 12 at the time, fell in love with him then. His son also is a talented singer. Would love to see more Allen Jones movies brought back. Miss the talent of years gone by.
Allan jones is my favorite classical crossover tenor. In my opinion he was the sucessor to an essentially similar (earlier) artist John Mc Cormack . He is also the male conterpart to Alma Gluck( soprano) ( Efrem Zimbalist Jr's mother) Thes are my favorite 3 vocalists & I bow to none in my admiration for ALLAN JONES !!!
When I first heard Mr.Allan Jones sing was in "A night At The Opera",starring the Marx brothers.A genius of a singer. Those were the days.Thank you for keeping His voice and presence alive.
Thank you for the rating! Could you please direct me to your video? I would very much like to see it. I have a website for Allan Jones you can find with Google if you would like to visit.
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my new clip of 1930's cigarette cards of Allan Jones, George Formby, Errol Flynn, Gracie Fields, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Gary Cooper, Fred Astaire, and Vivien Leigh.
One of the under appreciated GREATS! He did not get the credits he deserved for his contributions in Hollywood. " A Pretty Girl, Is like A Melody" sung by him for Dennis Morgan. He was married to Irene Hervey and had a son named Jack Jones with her. He worked in the coal mines in his youth in Pennsylvania.
@jingles0 Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald were my ABSOLUTE favorites and when I heard Allan Jones was opposite her in "Firefly" I had a fit! WE went to see it anyway and when he opened his mouth and started to sing my heart Stopped! How I worshipped him. Oh, I still adored Nelson Eddy and always will. But, Allan was just my whole world. I was about 16 at the time. I am 88 now and Nelson Eddy, Jeanette MacDonald and Allan are still my all time favorites. What joy to look back upon.

Unforunelly, there´s not many films of his in DVD.
