so about the little window on the hood. Most real automobiles have a poly opening up to a beautifully sculpted engine, where you can see all the awesome details. but on this thing, all we see is a piece of plastic denoting the car is supercharged, way to go chevy designers

I imagine they were in a dilemma with that. Firstly, it's a bigger engine. The c6 body is capable of holding larger engines (a la 7L in the Z06) but they'll have a bulge in their hood. While the 6.2 is slightly smaller than the 7, it does require massive cooler. Imagine the only reliable and economical way to store the supercharger would be on top of it. This probably created an even larger bulge that looked more awkward than the window, so they opted with the window.

People who are making fun of the ZR1 or saying its not the best are simply just jealous. The ZR1 is the best product GM has ever created. This vette not only is the fastest on the street with 638hp its also one of the best in handling. Corvettes have always been known for there power and handling and this vette once again proves it and goes beyond that. Luxury my ass who cares about that I want power, speed, handling which this vette has it all.

It is really as good as it sounds and beats all of the exotics that all of you fucking eruopeans care soo much about. The fact that it can go from 0-60 in 3.3sec is just amazing!!! It is almost as fast as the Ferrari Enzo and it uses the same brakes as it. Now if you want luxury, go some where else. You pay for perforance not luxury and thats just what you get

When you accelerate fast, weight is shifted to the rear, why the front lifts and the rear squats, when you brake hard weight shifts forward over the front wheels so most of the braking effort is up front, hence bigger brakes as they have to work harder.

I am a big fan of sport cars. However, Corvette was not among of my favorite's ones until I rented one from Hertz; this car is amazing. The acceleration is only comparable to the ones I have felt in powerful motorcycles. If I had to choose between a Porsche Cayman and a regular Corvette (similar prices) I wouldn't doubt in buying Corvette...

I was referring to a regular 2008 Corvette, with 430 HP which is a lot of power compared to other sport cars. It is obvious that Hertz doesn't have the ZR1 for rent... Check their web page.

i don't think the rwd zr1 is gonna have a better start than the new gtr. with 600hp it's pretty hard to launch properly with just 2 wheels. remember, gtr despite its heavy load of 1740kg it does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. I think 1/4 mile time between the two would be a rather close one.
