Ruff! Brilliant! And totally agree, nothing sounds like the SP1200. Plus I totally like the simple and intuitive workflow. For a Electro Hop Track recorded today and done with only the SP1200 you might want to check my video response.
Yo holmes nice work, I'm diggin it. I'm a fledgling producer researching what gear I should get to make my sounds, and it's encouraging to know that this thing has some flexibility. Would you recommend getting one?
@OpulentPeasant Thanks man! This machine has a very distinct vibe. You can't get that sound with anything else (no bitcrusher etc., believe me). It's a real joy to make beats with it because it instantly gives you the 'right sound'. If you dig it, it's absolutely worth getting. I paid 1000 euros and would probably pay 2000 if I had to.
fuck that this is on some grimey detriot gutter shit here.. bpm's are fine if u ask me. loving it!! cool to see an sp used for something other than boom bap
I came back to check this track out - nice work once again. I was wondering if you could recommend some house artists that have this type of gritty sample based sound? I checked out some moodymann and really liked it.
Really good job, underground house is the exact style...the mixer seems to well keep the dynamic of the sp...really appreciate the sounds coming after 1 minute ,is it filtered???
Thanks! The sound after 1 min is not filtered, just a down tuned loop with a good swing to it - when you down tune something with the SP it sounds really nice and dirty!
Thanks. The HB 12 has great features, decent sound (never tried the preamps) and it usually works fine with Logic 8. The trade-off is a rather cheap built quality.

Hey its pretty sick dude, but I recommend you up the BPM to around 120-125, sounds to me around 110...
djphatd 3 years ago
Thanks, I like it a bit downtempo but around 120 bpm would probably work too.

how did you get the filter effect on 1min24s?amazing
