ok i have a prepaid sim card for a sidekick lx...i used sum1 elses simcard to open my g1 and set up my gmail account on my g1 and thn i put my prepaid sim in the g1...all i can do is call and text but i want 3g service on my sim card so i can go to the internet and goto the market to download apps... but i cnt because my simcard is not 3g its prepaid...is tht possible to do plz let me knoe 1

by calling t-mobile and saying your going over seas, and this is only if youve been with them for 90 days. each code is different so you cant just ask someone.

every code is different it depends on you imei number, you need to call t-mobile to get it OR pay for it

ok well im thinkin bout switching to AT&T cuz tmobile sux ass. but i dont want to have to get the iphone. if i unlock this phone, can i use ALL of its features and stuff when i have the AT&T network on? will it work just as still having tmobile as the provider? and also what about firmware updates? i doubt this will continue since they come from tmobile right? ur response to my questions would be very much appreciated.

no 3g but the market is still available it works just fine for me and 3g is for people who leave the country alot it really doesnt matter if you have 3g or not

i live outside u.s and i've unlocked it with unlock key but i still can't get pass the gmail sign-in page, anyone aware of a way to get around this ?

ok you have to get the apn for your carrier and input it to your phone

code is unique to every phone by the phone IMEI number.

if hackers created hacks to change the baseband on the iphone, there's a possibility of the same with the G1

Any phone can be unlocked for making phone calls. But whats the point in unlocking the G1 if you cant access the 3g network or download apps from the android market.
